Your not kidding, thats why i included the link to the range on the hp website as like i said in the post there is a lot of standard harware in the the range. But if you are going to buy one you really have to make sure with dabs that the standard 6735s hardware is included. http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/sm/WF06a/321957-321957-64295-89315-89315-3687621.html

what ,when i go to the checkout it comes to "total (inc VAT) £354.86", and i hate to say as i think that ebuyer machine is fantastic for the money as you see by the amount i have posted in that thread but this machine is better value if it comes with all the standard kit all of the other 6735s models come with and i see no reason why it wouldn't

Also i have the email that i found this deal on that clearly states the price is £349.00 including vat

However if you search for 5C6TI8 you will get the cheap price.
Notice the "I" instead of the "1"
This is hot!

sorry for cocking up the direct link, has been changed now, although after i just double checked it the original link that i was using is the same as the one that you just posted which is a bit strange. If anyone is having trouble seeing this offer just search for 5C6TI8 in the quicklinx box in the top right hand corner
#15
Yes you will have to put the code in. The link always takes you to the full price just the tracking cookie redirects to cheaper price.

For some reason Dabs doesn't want to offer this to everybody. This method also stops price checking sites.

Bloody dabs they are so annoying lol, i wondered why when you actually just looked through their laptop range this did not appear at the lower price. Never mind it here for all to see now and the op has been edited so people shouldn't miss it although i bet someone expires it thinking the price has gone up.

Yes they probably will as most people don't read. Its a good price and for most people will be a better deal than ebuyer one.The QL series do run a little hot so if you want it for your lap then the RM series is better for you. But if you just plonk it on a table then save the pennies and go for this.

You could always use quidco which would take another 2% off the price which just covers the postage.

If all the standard spec that come with all 6735s machine are also on this machine (and there is no reason too doubt they shouldnt be) and the processor is the one that i think is then the machine are almost identical. The processors have almost identical performance and that just leaves the RAM which you can buy for £11.99 from play to make up to 4gb http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/5748690/PNY-PC6400-2GB-800MHz-DDR2-200pin-SoDIMM-Laptop-Memory/Product.html

All the 6735s machines can take up to 8gb RAM but and have 2 RAM slots on the motherboard so if you want 4gb you will have to take the 1gb stick out and replace it with a 2gb stick, if you want any more ram than 4gb than you will need to upgrade the operating to a 64 bit os as all 32 bit operating systems can only address 4gb at most.

As for installing xp yes that is fine as long as you have an xp disc and an xp licence key. I imagine the hard drive in this hp is partitioned in 2 one for a recovery program will probable take up around 10gb and then then rest of the hard drive so when you are installing xp and are going through all the format option you probably should format the main partition only and leave the recovery partition becuase then you can install vista at a later date much more easily if you require, or if you never want vista format all the partitions and merge them into one and install. All of the drivers for xp can be found at the link i gave in the op

The acer has better CPU and Graphics, personally i still would not buy it due to the simple fact that it is an acer and i just do not like them becuase my own personal opinion is that that they are rubbish build quality, they are not made to last and there customer service is terrbible. Now i am sure there are many happy acer customers out there and many that use this forum but for me i have heard too many horror stories to ever buy one.

and i know someone will probably shoot me down for saying that because i posted an acer laptop earlier but just becuase i posted it does not mean that i would buy it but i know that people that dont mind acers would have found it a good deal.

Anyone own this laptop? I have tried calling HP to get a spec from them. They couldn't even tell me what processor it has, but did tell me it has an integrated webcam - do I believe them when they couldn't get me more detail on the processor? I think not. I then spoke to 2 different departments, the last of which was in India, and didnt have a scooby what i was talking about and said i was in the wrong dept.
