This appears to be a good deal with a 320gb harddrive and a 8 cell battery.

Battery life is dependant on the settings but if you have the settings correct then you should be able to get over 3hrs, probs nearer 4.

If you have it set to full power and max brightness then it will obviouslly reduce to nearer 2 hours but an 8 cell battery is very very good.

I bought one of these, can anyone else who has one answer a question for me?

The battery on mine is very slightly loose, it doesn't stay lock in place and when you place it on your lap you can hear and feel it move. Is this normal or is it just mine?

Not a major issue but it's bugging me!!

Can anyone tell me if the screen is matte or glossy please? I am sick of reflections on my glossy laptop screen.

I found this one lower spec and lower price http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158888

It is £389, it is shame I missed the higher spec one when it was £389 before xmas!

Now £399.99, or £408 with a bag!

Friend is literally buying one next to me as I type this...!

Will be buying this as soon as my bank card arrives, should be on monday. I've only found 1 laptop with better performance, and its only slightly, however it has 6cell battery and none of the useful features like bluetooth, lightscribe, etc. This laptop is an absolute bargain and i will post a review on it once it has been delivered.

I've got the 6735s, AMD Sempron version. I put XP on it and threw an extra 2gb of ram in it. It's really good. I'm actually using Windows 7 now and it's very, very usable. I bet that model will be even more powerful !

Anyone can confirm graphics card - shared or dedicated????

Have you read the thread title or the specs on ebuyer?...:whistling:

seemingly comparable to an 8400M GS

I have this lappie, recent purchase to replace an old dell.
Very happy with it, to the poster above re the battery, mine is solidly in place, you must have a dodgy fitting battery.

That is a really good deal; anyone who missed out on the Comet Toshiba deal; get this - just as good a deal, bit more spec for a bit more cash!

The 6735S is a firm favourite on HUKD and has been so for the last year or so.. Just like the ML115 Quad Core Server at £200...

Does anyone know if this HP 6735 better than the HP Pavillion range laptops? Also if someone can advise on what megapixel the webcam is aswell.
#18
Most likely 0.3MP from my experience with HP laptops.

That depends on the laptop you're getting, a power hungry machine like this one will gobble through a typical 8-cell-capacity battery in an hour or two, while a low power laptop will get anything up to ten hours out of it.

Is this a laptop where the battery slide in the back? If so then wobbly battery seems to be a fairly common issue with that design, as long as you're not randomly using power I wouldn't worry about it too much though.

HP's website says that the 6735s comes with both glossy and non-glossy screens, (brightview is HP's misleading term of choice for glossy screens) and I can't see this particular configuration listed on their website so I'd not bank on it either way.

Most likely 0.3MP from my experience with HP laptops.

Definately not a 0.3, either a 1.3 or 2.0.

I bought this laptop last week and i LOVE it.

my battery isnt loose, lasts for 2.30 a most.

The screen is matte.
