The HP 5541 is now on sale and is down to an amazing £59, it includes 4 months free Instant Ink on any plan, and then a £16 credit voucher to get a further 8 months of the £1.99 plan pre-paid. Of course the £16 can pay towards any of the two other plans as well, but this will reduce the amount of credit left on the account.

Its a cracking printer, with Airprint and ePrint for Apple and Andriod devices, and easy setup for Windows and Mac computers, and prints of a decent A4 photograph for £59 its a good buy.

Where did you find the Ts and Cs for the instant ink trial? I'd buy this if it was a straightforward 12 months trial on any plan but the 4 months plus £16 credit isn't such a good deal.

The printer seems to be a Curry's exclusive - presumably it's really a HP Envy 5540 which normally sells for £60ish.

Thanks but I still can't see where its say the 12 month trial is in reality only a 4 month trial. I've ordered anyway as I need a new printer which actually works over wi-fi.

Great deal - wish I'd waited for this better model instead of ordering the 4525 from Currys a few weeks ago.
However, I'm very pleased with my printer for what it cost and the £1.99/month deal makes life much simpler than constantly buying expensive cartridges.

The £16 code is on the instant ink card in the box.

Did you manage to find out whether it was only 4 months + £16, or was actually 12 months on any plan? Considering this printer myself.

I would steer clear of this printer. I bought this from Curry's last week and it seems impossible to print to the 10cm x 15cm photo paper from Windows 7.

Even if you eventually manage to configure the printer to switch the paper supply from the main tray (which holds plain A4 paper) to the photo tray (which holds 10cm x 15cm photo paper) by digging down about 5 levels into the Print options dialog boxes, it fails to print to the photo paper; it will only print to the A4. From what I read online, Windows 10 users have the same problem. There are several different threads on the HP support forums raising the same issue, without any resolution.

The only way I could get it to print to photo paper was to install two HP apps on my Android phone, copy the image over to the phone, and print it from there. This is absurd, and it's going back. I feel bad for Curry's as it's not their fault, but the printer just doesn't work as advertised. Further searches suggest this is an issue with several other HP printer models too.

It's clearly purely a software issue (given it works from a phone), and you'd think that having spent the time to put together a - I kid you not - 130MB Windows driver and software package, they would at least have ensured printing a photo from Windows would be not only possible but simple. What a shame.
