i've got the nc6400 which is a really nice business laptop, everything except the fingerprint reader works under linux out of the box.

the cashback looks like its just money off office2007.

you sure its not cheaper direct from hp, it seems to be going from 339+vat (probably could ditch the vista and office crud).

could do with another gig of ram - although the existing ram is a single 1gb stick, so easy enough to add another.

No it’s £50 off the laptop; see HP’s website.

This model is £489 on HP's website plus £9.99 shipping plus VAT = £586.31

I'm very tempted on this laptop, hot!

The cashback form can be downloaded from Dabs.com as a PDF

so it's 499ukp including vat and postage, then 50ukp back too?

oh jees, i really don't need a new laptop but wow! i've seen the nc6400 for twice that price (the one i have belongs to work).

nooooooooooo......must....fight....argggggh

don't know whether I can wait until 14th for Dell's next offers....Core 2 duo, 2 GHz, good reasonable specifications, all for £450 after the cashback  .....the only thing missing for me is integrated webcam, if only it had that

these hp business laptops are waaaaay better than dell's home crud.

More pictures from Misco although it's only 120GB hard drive on their site. I'm really tempted to get one - has anyone got one already and can tell us if they are good?

its funny, it doesn't look much like my nc6400, i don't like the way that screen seems to hinge over the back of the laptop, looks a bit fragile.

also the three usb ports so close together could be an issue, the nc6400 has two on one side and another on the other side.

also that silver top looks a bit dell to me ;-)

note that this processor is 64-bit and dual core of course, but also has intel Virtualisation Technology (so can run windows under xen on linux).

god, I'm sooooo tempted.
#12
ordered it just now, can't wait to get my hands on it.......
#13
I'm pretty sure that this extra 1GB of RAM from Dabs would be compatible to boost this laptop's RAM to 2GB too...

Anyone owns this laptop?? Short review please.

Totally disagree with you on this one….

Had a Dell in daily works use (7 hours a day) for 3 years with no problems & very little signs of ware…..on the other hand my home Compaq (which is HP) looks quite worn after 11 months…especially the keyboard…the grainy finish wore off the most used keys in a matter of months!…I have just sent it away for repair under Guarantee after 11 months of very light use…it won’t switch on…nothing…dead!

The Mrs also has a works HP not sure of the model but I know it has a finger print reader.
It feels very fragile & the keyboard seems to be lower on the right hand side…it looks like its out of shape probably down to heat.

Each to their own I suppose but In my findings HP / Compaq aren’t a patch on Dell.

I had hp and dell both but hp are far better than dell.dell laptops only look good on piece of paper not more than that too noisy and performance speed is not worth the money and i would definitely recommend hp

I have tried to purchase this laptop with Ebuyer first time.

After giving them all personal and bank details they replayed with email request for Id security check. They want from me copies of: passport, driving license , 2 utility bills, date of birth and country of origin.

With all that they have everything what they need to use and abuse my bank account.:x
Cant believe it. I've been shopping all sorts of things from the web for years.
Never experienced something similar. And values of the purchase were much higher.

If I order this now, will i still be able to claim the cash back ? or will it depend on ebuyer shipping it quickly ?
