Compressed air and standard wipes generally do the job for me.

Must admit I do have my OCD moments when it comes to cleaning up refurb laptops - it's all about attention to detail :)

    Have these sold out yet?

Isopropyl alcohol / distilled white vinegar is what I slap on any 2nd user item that comes my way.

I'm not wasting a decent drink on a refurb! ;)

You joke, but that's a method some people use to clean old circuit boards!

i got a mate that works in recycling and gets loads of phones/laptops occasionally. He runs them under water and soap banging the phones to get every bit of dirt out of it.When i saw him doing that i said he was crazy and that the items were now 100% buggered but he said after they have dried for a few days most still work

Awesome laptop, I just gave mine away due to not using it though.
The processor on these is still better than any of that i3 crap that PC world sell :) Most need a RAM upgrade though, and a re-download of all the drivers from their site to get things like fingerprint scanner working

Altho I have no doubt this is superior to more modern models my only concern would be with increased power and thus noise. How do these things sound?

From 2GHz to 2.5 GHz the i3 and i5 processors are the same as the above 35W

:D Well yes, because it isn't a netbook! Netbooks are a completely different performance profile of machine...

It will have an OEM license sticker on the bottom of the unit for Vista Business, which if I recall, allows you to downgrade to XP.

You'll need to source a copy of the OS from somewhere first though.

Either that, a version of Linux will do the job nicely for free.
