I'm looking for a cheap laptop for my daughter, do you have details of a cheaper one?
For an extra 84p you could get a case and bluetooth mouse with it to. Search the site for "BFL581EA" - as far as I can tell it is the same laptop but in a student bundle.

You could post a coal-gas powered computer with the performance of a broken steam engine on here, and as long as it was cheap, it will get masses of interest! :-(

Cheap, but not good value at all, although to it's credit, I have seen worse on these pages, and no doubt there will be even worse to come.
I paid £300 for this in Comet just 2 days back, but had to srnd it to family abroad so returning was no option

hot and repped from me.
got one for my 12yeared olds xmas.......live in a 3 levelled house with the router on the top floor...downstairs the internet connection via the wifi is still 8meg....screen is superb and its exactly what a 12year old needs for surfing the net and using WORD for doing essays.
All these people who slate the post but never put any suggestions forward!!
All these people who slate the post but never put any suggestions forward!!

They are on here on an almost daily basis, how hard can it be to look at the "New" posts every day, you only need to read those you are interested in. There is certainly one very interesting Laptop posted TODAY, so its not going to take much researching to find it! it isn't the world's cheapest laptop though, so don't think it is - it is good value though. If you wait for deals in the hot category, many of them may be gone by the time it registers the heat, so little point looking then!

After all, there is more to buying a PC than the price anyway, and that's the problem that's all some folks think there is to PCs.

Then these low spec deals get posted, eyes light up at that price then there is a frenzy of "can I play xxxxx game on this" or will this run such & such -the answers get repeated again and again, when really, the best way of getting a PC that meets your needs is to first decide what you want it for. If that is games, see what is available with an appropriate spec, and then wait for deals to come along.
Part of good bargain hunting is about knowing your subject, reasonably - and although you can't know everything, read around the subject a bit, and read posts on here too, no need to be a complete expert, but you will soon see trends and information that either rings true or doesn't!

It's bargain hunting site, not an individual personal shopping service, and I think that it would be impossible to get that level of help out of it, you are just expecting far too much; but use the info that is around wisely and you will find good buys, I know I have; as well as the odd dud!

Alternatively buy the first heap of old junk that comes along, that's cheap, as there is always the odd one or two who will tell you it's great when what it REALLY is, is an exercise in Computing history :-(
Yes it's a CELERON!
Yes it only has 1GB OF RAM
Yes it does have VISTA BASIC

Yes it is RUBBISH!
You can pick up re-furbs of these from pc world with 1yr warranty + better spec for the same money.
