HP Deskjet F4580 All-in-One Printer. Simple printer, scanner and copier. Listed in many places at £79.99 or more but at many others at £59.99. The advantages of HP inkjet printers is that the cartrige and the jet is replaced when the ink runs out. So that you have a completely new jet each time you replace the cartridge. The disadvantage is that Hp cartidges used to cost a lot more than other manufacturers, however now they are more comparable with those from say, for example Epson. This printer is quite compact for a multi-function device and quite quiet if a little clunky in operation. Print quality is good. The copy fuction works offline (either black and white or colour). Wireless networking is simple to set up and supports WPA and ip addresses can be manually set if required. A usb1 printer cable is included.

Same price at Argos, and elsewhere too:

You can't rely on Quidco, but they do 1.5% anyway for online, and anything is better than buying from a DSG Company!

As is happens I have been looking for a (Multifunction) printer this week as my Brother has dried up and won't budge - so was thinking of going back to HP as for all the extra cost for ink, the heads get replaced when you replace with a new cartridge! Seems many models have a number of reviews of NIGHTMARISH software problems though which is leaving me hanging:-(

Well I did mention it as available from others for the same price (also from pc world) and I had absolutely no problems setting it up or running it via USB or wirelessly, you can use it as both. And if you look at the costs of inks, they're comparable (as I said) so I can't see why it's been voted so cold. It's also quite small for a multifuction, so you can just tuck it away somewhere. It's also smaller than the Epson SX515W (shown elsewhere) and who needs memory slots and a display anyway (I've always found direct printing useless it's very fiddlly or you don't print what you want and waste paper.)
