Specs are poor for the price

Wouldnt buy HP ever again, after spending nearly £600 on a dv5 with blu ray
just over 2 years ago, battery is now knackered,
cost of new one over £70!
Ive got other cheaper laptops which are still going strong battery wise
over 5 years or more.
HP seem appear to be using cheaper parts, going by the amount of battery failures
ive read about on internet, its a common problem, so cold from me im afraid
but thanks for posting :-)
A battery that lasts 2 years ... I can only dream of what that must be like. I've had my Alienware M11x (made by Dell) for just of 12 month (sod's law) and the battery is ****, £75 quid for a new one. Had the screen replaced because of the well known loose hinge issue only to discover the new screen has 3 dead pixels, they don't care because it's less than 5 dead pixels or more policy. I will certainly be more careful when I source a replacement laptop. Based on what you've said I think I'll avoid HP too (they were the obvious choice at the top of my list).

HP batteries are no better/worse that anyone else's...

Battery failed on my Lenovo after 13mths...bought a cheapo pattern one off Ebay and it's still going strong 3yrs later...
This is not bad for £449 I3 and 1x 4gb memory and 500gb 7200 hd plus ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 HDMI and Esata port DVD WriterHP Pavilion dv6-3120sa
plus 6% quidco

Generally seem pricey. Paid £485 (after quidco which has paid out) from Bestbuy back in nov for dv63125sa, which is £599???

Haven't been too impressed by dv6 and wouldnt recommend it
Freezing, hugely overpriced for what it is made up with. Thats typical HP
