Also on business part of HP store it is £7 cheaper if that is any use to anyone. Quidco should track at £12 if my math is right.

Are you sure this is a Dual Core Computer (see the title of the thread)?

Yes it is a dual core, I got the specs off dabs and compared same model number on ebuyer and other sites like techstore. X2 means its dual core.

I have recieved my cheque for £50 last week after buying this from PCWB back in late november!!!

From a user review:

A good value desktop however note the motherboard only takes two RAM modules and they are both full.
#8
Yeah bit of a downer that this takes a max of 2gb RAM.

The PCWB thread is actually the 5000+ model of this which comes with 2gb of RAM. Was a better deal, shame theres none left, but this is ace if your after a cheapo desktop from a reputable retailer.

I add to basket, then go to checkout and the basket is empty.
Any ideas, or has anybody managed to purchase one yet ?

Thanks :-D

Keep an eye on it, was working last night. They did this with the laptops but then you were able to checkout later on so expect if you try it later it will be ok.

the HP site is difficult sometimes.

Go via Quidco

This takes you to the Home version of their site. Click on 'Desktops'

search for DX2250 in 'Store Only'

The item you want should be the 1st of three listed.

Add to the basket from this screen.

Then add voucher etc.

Works in Firefox and Internet Explorer.

T&C for rebate says

11. The offer is valid only in the UK for private end users and business customers. This offer may not be combined with any other promotional offers or special pricing offered on the qualifying products during the timescale of this promotion.

So does the £40 rebate not potentially invalidate this?

PS If buying more than one then you can use code ONLINE instead to get 10% off

Be aware that there are lots of different specs possible under the same model number. 4400+ @ 2.6GHz looks like single core.

This model is an Athlon 64 X2. The X2 part signifies dual core.. The 4400 part is made up by AMD and isnt the clock speed.
#15
There is a slight twist to this one
If you look further down the promo sheet you see there is £10 off 1gb memory which means that you can get 1gb DDR2 simms for 12.50 I think
ie you could upgrade this to 2gb for only £25...
Cheaper than most places I think

For more info on that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Athlon_64_microprocessors .... Actually it looks as if AMD did not produce 4400+ single core CPU. But then the 2.6GHz speed might actually indicate a X2 5000+ CPU instead... WHich means that either the real core speed is 2.2GHz or the AMD rating is 5000+
