I'm sorry, I don't see what's so special about this laptop to warrant a £600 price tag for a refurbished unit.

EDIT: ok, so it's a quad core. Rest of the specs seem the norm for a £400 laptop

£6,073.47 and it's a refurb...

Just over £600 and I made a typo...

I knew when I posted this I'd get everyone spamming with 'but it's a refurb' comments, so are the laptops at Dell Outlet, but the smart ones of us buy these because they're pretty much the same as a new machine only without the cost, they're tested, certified and resold.

The HP Envy is a different machine, anyone comparing this to some basic, plastic laptop is causing issues - you should be comparing this to Apple Macbook Pros. And we all know that you pay a premium for a premium product, same in every industry, particularly relevant here and in the automotive sector.

For the record, I don't think comparing it to a Dell XPS 17 is fair either, the build quality of the Envy is better - I know, I've owned both.

graphics is alot higher than a 400quid laptop also
the linked dell is a 17inch unit, the equivalent dell 15incher has geforce 435 which seems to be the same as the radeon 4830.
dell would end up cheaper and be better allround but the build and styling on these is quite nice.

Correction, it's an Intel quad-core.

I can't think of a single £400 laptop wrapped in a premium metal casing top and bottom and one of the most potent AMD/ATi graphics cards released - yes, this outperforms the HD5650 and the GT 420M.

yes ENVY looks nicer, probably feels nicer - men may just kick the missus out of bed to sleep next to it...don't let it ruin your relationship, buy the Dell ;P

I've used this laptop before and i have to say its wicked. Looks great, feels great, keyboard is ace, performance is great. all round amazing laptop.. and price is good too... you get a year warranty as well i think... or buy it with a Credit card which protects your purchases for a certain time period (normally a year). anyway great lappy and great price. hot from me

I using this laptop now!!! bought it for £700 8 months ago!!! At this price it is a bargin!!

The only down sides to this laptop are the battery life, when playin high end games the battery life gets sucked (which can be expected) also the Hard drive capacity is not the best...but apart from that what a smashin piece of kit!!

I have been able to play starcraft II and fall out New Vegas with out any issue!!!
Again at this price I wud defo buy the laptop if you looking for a gaming laptop.

Note reviews are based on people who payed over £1000+, expectations are high if u dish out that much for a laptop...at this price u cant go wrong!!
#13
good find for a core i7 at this price they normally come with 12 months warranty anyway so your still covered if something goes wrong

What about the heating issues reported on several reviews? Have they been fixed with any BIOS update?
#15

nice video card, nice cpu, and nice price

nasty hotkeys to the left ruin it completely, have fun opening Internet Explorer and Calculator over and over again instead of pressing shift and ctrl - and just when you thought they could be disabled/changed in software -- SURPRISE!

I knew this wouldn't be voted a 'hot' deal because people would see just the spec and say there are better things out there for less money. For people who know what the HP Envy series is and represent, those are the people who will see how good a deal this is - you have to look beyond the hardware spec, it's the Dell Adamo business all over again.

I hope I've made at least some people happy by posting this deal at this price though!
