I need a new printer, Canon b200 error on my MG5350 and something similar on my previous Canon.:(

What are the advantages of buying a HP printer when you can't buy cheap comptaible cartridges, is it the fact that original cartridges are cheaper than those from other brand printers?

Well you can pick up a colour and a black/white printer cartridge for less than £17, HP original ones, so seems pretty cheap to me

Why can't you buy cheap compatible? Seen them on the shelves with the Canon compatibles etc

You're right, there's not as much choice and they're a little more expensive than other compatibles.

Excellent bit of kit - my old man bought one the other day. HP have started doing a subscription ink service - £3.99 a month gives you a 50 page a month allowance - the printer knows when it's running low on ink and it automatically gets sent to you by post. Ideal for occasional users like him. They also do higher volume plans. I was impressed.

Bought this printer for £49.99 from John Lewis with a 2yr gtee - free pick up from Waitrose or instore. The ink subscription is actually £1.99pm for 50 prints. However you get carts with enough ink for 200 prints included so it makes sense to delay the HP subscription until you are almost through the free ink. We were told it takes 10 days for the subscription service to kick in and you can start and cancel at any time. Seems like a good deal.
