Its on again - in case someone (like myself) missed it back then. Quidco isn't as lucrative(1.1% which is measly :() like last time though - but this is still the best price I could find for it online.

6 nectar points for every 1 pound spent at Currys through Nectar.

PriceRunner hasn't updated yet to pick the updated prices as it's just gone live a few mins back.

Hopefully it helps someone.

Cracking little unit. Bought one on Black Friday and surprisingly quick and not too loud either compared to my Canon all in one. Chose the £7.99 instant ink option and already had one ink delivered even though still on original cartridges. The voucher is valid through 2017 so may get another and activate it when 5 months are up on this one ;)

i see the 5546 has 9 months trial of instant ink - is that a better shout? I'm needing ink for my old HP printer but it might be a better option getting a whole new unit....

Will the higher resolution of the next model up offer any discernable difference in print quality?

(4800 x 1200 as opposed to 1200 x 1200)

Very easy to install and use even without the laptop. Prints from iPhone without a problem. Though that little screen is a touch screen and the printer looks fab.

Found this in the specifications for the model here:
Up to 4800 x 1200 with HP photo paper and a 1200 dpi input

Does anyone know if instant ink vouchers can be stacked?

Apparently they can, I got conned by the sales assistant in currys who sold me a instant ink card for £1.99 when I purchased this printer in the Black Friday deals, some top guy who I presume works for currys told me by pm that although the sales assistant should not have sold me it, when I set up the printer not only will I get the 5 month free trial I can also activate the card I was sold and it would give me a extra month on too, I,e 7 months!!

i would say no printing photos on this printer isn't a good idea as I found out most turn out really dark and not useable.

Read the previous thread for this printer band you find more information.

brought this at black Friday deal....but haven't opened it yet - does the 5 months free instant ink offer code have a start date or did it expire. I mean is it too late to activate the offer? if so I might just take it back and get this one. any comments appreciated. thanks.

No code should work straight out the box as it is linked to the printer hope that helps you ;)

We've printed loads of photos with this printer for Xmas. All turned out fine, just made sure it was set up for 3rd Party Photo paper and worked a treat

I managed to haggle them down to £8 when I purchased this same deal on the Black Friday offers, again with instant ink that was posted recently. Somebody on that post thought they had got cover for £5

When this printer was in a deal for Black Friday along posted regards photos and the quality not being up to standard. Personally I think it's down too personal view. Allot of people myself included thought it was decent and certainly fine enough unless you want to look at your photos three inches from your eyes!

Can u print from android phones on this printer or is it just with iPhones?

Can u print from windows phones as well on this printer?

Can someone explain the instant ink for me please never heard of it. I assume they send you the ink as stocks are running low. Is the 70% off real or are they inflated prices that you can match anywhere. Anyone any idea how much the inks would be. Just trying to make sure I'm not buying a pig in a poke lol.

Instant ink basically gives you as many ink cartridges that you want for free, and you pay a small amount for the amount of pages that you print, regardless if it's high quality photographs or a email. This printer will give you 5 months for free of any of the 5 plans avaialble, 50 page/£1.99, 100 pages/£3.49 or 300 pages/£7.99, you can change the plans as you see fit, and any pages that are not used are rolled over into next month.

Yes for the 5 month trial it is worth doing the highest price and, then change it towards end, when you are due to start paying lol

Got this on deal few weeks ago on here. Very happy with it. Does the job well.
Already received next batch of ink when others still have some left.
Printing from iphone works perfect also. Heat added!

It's more a photo resolution/quality thing. A download of Facebook for example will never be a good photo print
#31
yes a years guarantee :)

ordered - thanks OP.

what is a referral code?

While this is considered a budget entry level printer by many, I purchased this one a few months ago and is excellent, compared to my old Epson wireless printer!
It is so easy to set-up over WiFi and can print directly from my Android phone, tablet, PC and Mac!

The print quality is very good for the average user, quite quick, like the design and the small footprint, how there is a paper drawer which keeps the paper dust free and also how you can print on both sides and the printer turns the paper for you!

The scanner is a little slow, but good quality on the higher setting, but there no paper feed.

If you print lots, you probably want to go for a professional office model, designed for high usage, but if you just print a few pages, excellent option!

You sign up for instant ink when setting up the printer for the first time. The set up will guide you through it, it's pretty straightforward :)

sorry to sound d.. , but what exactly is the ink trial?

Basically your printer orders ink for you before it runs out, and its delivered to you door. You sign up to one of three packages - 50 pages for £1.99 per month, 100 for £3.49 pm or 300 for £7.99 pm. It doesn't matter whether you print a full A4 photo or two sentences, it's classed as one page. You can roll over 50 pages per month. If you go over your plan you do get charged - it's £1 for 15 / 20 / 25 depending on plan. Though the trial covers you for up to 300 pages per month as standard. Hope that helps :D

Is it possible to rack up the inks even if you don't use them all in each month? i.e can i request for more ink as part of the trial, essentially 5 months of ink (of the 300pages package) free to use at any later date with this product? Thanks
