bought 1 of these from tesco but had to take it back, the trackpad and buttons are horrendous to use. quite fast and good spec for the money but my fingers hurt from using the jerky trackpad and unresponsive buttons

Why not just buy a mouse for it then?

kind of defeats the object, ever used a mouse on a train?
#6
Fair enough on a train, but for home use etc.

With a mouse it would be fine, but it wasn't for me as I prefer to use the trackpad/mouse.

Subjective though so neutral rating from me.

Heat from me! :)

I bought a similar laptop for the wife quite a while ago (a 6735s from Ebuyer) and it has a very similar spec, but with Vista.

It's still working great and feels solid to use, the only issues that I had to disable the internal modem due to the screen filckering - weird but Google helped. Also get the VIsta known bug regarding the external monitor issue - no real problem.

HP / Compaq do get a lot of stick but I'd buy off them again and this laptop has worked great with no rebuilds and can't even recall it crashing!

Awesome deal considering the bundle included. Heat added! :)

What a ridiculous response.

Be warned of the horrible row of hotkeys to the left of the keyboard that are in no way differentiated in touch or texture. Good luck touch typing on this. If you need to press any key on the last row of the keyboard you'll end up opening calculator and internet explorer, etc. instead of pressing tab, shift, and ctrl

don't blame you, I work helping students in a hall of residence connect to the net and I must say whenever I see one of these new HP machines with these abominable hotkeys I nearly have an aneurysm
