doesnt seem that spectacular.....

Yeah because 230 pound of a laptop isnt good.

Those specs are hard to find on a laptop remotly near in price.

It s a good deal for the money but to be honest those specs aren't that great, certainly not spectacular at all.

it's an inflated price! This laptop was never worth £599!
Also the graphics are not good. They are fine for video editing. but if you want to do gaming then solitaire is going to be your only option

"The mGPU is integrated in the Intel GM40 and GL40 chipsets and designed for cheap laptops."

This is from a review of the graphics set up on this laptop

Also, HP are one of the worst brands for reliability
as echoed by alot of people in these forums

Graphics card seems to be wrong the one I got had an ATI Radeon graphics.
#9
Naff graphics, so-so CPU and a typical Hard drive.
Seriously, you consider Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M as "good"?!

It's got ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4250 Graphics,

slightly better than intel 4500 but still nothing to get excited about
#11
Isn't it more likely to be an ATI graphics chip given its an AMD processor?
#12
thanks for helpful comments - yet again shows these price drops are traps saves my cash

"Graphics card Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M " Pretty poor graphic, isn't it????

The Currys/PC World sale is usually a scam IMHO. The original price that they always quote with the sale price is only ever charged for 2/3 weeks. Always look at the dates when they advertise on the telly or in a paper.
#16
voting cold, 4gb ram is the high point

I'm no expert so I won't comment on the brand or the spec, but the OP seems to think this is a great deal because it's supposedly reduced from £600.
You should never buy something simply because it's supposedly been reduced by a large amount, this is a classic PCW con, it's a long time since a laptop with this spec sold for £600!!

Depends what you are going to do with it. Trouble with computers is that some people spend a daft amount of money for something they just surf the net with which is pointless.
If you are just web browsing and general office stuff and entertainment type stuff then that laptop is fine...but we don't know the price so can't comment on value. But no good for gaming....but very few laptops are without spending £1500
