I'm sorry but I will never buy another HP laptop!
They run very hot. I have repaired my son's DV6000 and as it was unreliable we got an ASUS replacement. They run so cool that you cannot tell where the processors are!
My daughter has the same heat problem with her DV5.

Bad build quality.

specs dont seem that good for the price...its not exactly a light laptop and has integrated gfx with only 2gb ram. think dv600 and dv5s had AMDs in them which tend to run hotter, this processor shouldn't get that hot..

Seems a decent deal to me, just over £300 with cashback for a capable day to day machine, as long your not wanting to play intensive games & carry it about. You could do alot worse for the money.
p.s £355 @play/amazon

i bought the i3 version and have to admit it ran incredibly well, quiet fan noise and cool to warm air came out, im sure this will be the same as the processor is also 32nm

I am planning to get i3...what model# did you go with and also comment on the build quality....

This processor "sounds" good because it's a Pentium, but it's a cheap, underclocked version. Slower than many Celerons.

Also, with only 2GB Ram the price is nothing special.

WARNING

Be warned that these have horrible undifferentiated hotkeys down the left hand side of the keyboard so whenever you try to touch type or press anything normally on the last row i.e. esc, `, tab, shift, or ctrl you will end up opening internet explorer, calculator and other stuff. Very poor design. Can't believe this stuff got past usability testing (if there was any!).

min was g62-105sa, it was posted here a while back, i3 330m, 3gb, 320gb. was really happy with the build quality, the finish is very good, only complaint i have is that the plastic bezel around the screen is glossy and scruffs ups really easily, otherwise its a solid performing laptop

Sloooooooooow Processor........

No its not - it is just a slightly slower version of a Core i3 - faster than most other laptops at this price.

haha anyone would think this is a powerhouse software user forum, but i bet you all just use a laptop for the internet and run microsoft office tasks. So give everyone a break and lets have some positive criticism. it's just a modern laptop for normal use..just make sure you get warranty...but it'll more than suffice..What you expect for 300 sheets? lol

What would you suggest for £300 ? I need a new or Argos refurb (12mnth) and not sure what to go for.... The odd game being played would be good too...

I bet both of the laptops you had were AMD
