No blu-ray so misleading. Sorry but for your first post you're not doing too well...(_;)

Good spot - have edited title .. .must copy specs in better without images ...

I don't think this has a Built-in TV Tuner either to be honest.
And it's not available to collect in store.

Just my 2 cents...

Great price a 17" Core i3 laptop, this would suit a lot of people very well!
#14
Good price for a 17" Laptop, £20 cheaper than a similarly specced Dell I bought last week, although I'm not a fan of HP laptops due to reliability issues
#15
anyone recommend a laptop as I have about £650 to spend on one and want a mega ace deal if possible
#16
A Core i3 processor but only 2GB RAM, isn't that a bit strange?

Out of interest, what was the 17" Dell deal you picked up?

That's a decent deal for £705 - £605 if you have an old laptop (worth at least £100 ;)) to trade in...

For about £650 you can get an i3-370 powered Dell XPS - a bit slower than the i5-450 but not too much so. http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&oc=N00XL702&dgc=AF&cid=5212&lid=122756&acd=358142401b8c3f096b014c713d518c2d

What do you mean "only 2GB"?

I really don't understand this strange mentality that people have about 2GB not been enough. When Vista came out 2GB was considered the sweetspot for optimum performance, and since then we've got Windows 7 which is less demanding and still works perfectly fine with 2GB, so why do you need more?

It was on Dell outlet so not really a deal worth posting as there were only a few available, always worth checking there before buying a new machine though.

I have one of these, typing on it right now as it happens. Good spec for the price and the screen is great (when it works), 2GB Ram does suffice as it is the newer DDR3, although don't expect great gaming performance. Keyboard looks nice but they do tend to have dodgy spacebars, and the mouse pad is pretty awful to use.

However, this is my second unit after a LCD backlight failure which seems to be a VERY common problem with the latest HPs. The rest of my colleagues (4 in all) have a HP Probook each, and 2 out of those 4 had to get them replaced due to LCD ribbon\backlight failure. So that's 3 out of 5 that have failed within a couple of months of purchase.

If you ask me, it seems that HP have been scrimping on the manufacture of their low-to-mid range laptops, particularly in the LCD department.

Looks like Quidco offer an additional 3% cashback, too. I haven't been able to find any reviews on this range though, has anyone read any?
#25
specs are ok but the build quality, keyboard and trackpad let it down for me.

Bought one of these yesterday as a desktop replacement for a friend with no demanding cpu and graphics requirements. For a machine with integrated graphics it's not at all bad, getting 4.8 on the Windows Experience Index for 3D - I doubt it'll quake at the sight of an old 3D game. Also, it runs very quietly, much more so than either of my laptops. If you want big on a limited budget, this is good.
#27
I want a similar spec machine but not this HP. the keyboard and trackpad is awful on this.

the £20 voucher has expired btw.
