I'd rather go through Quidco to HP and get it even cheaper than that.

That offer does not have 2 Years Warranty and neither does it have the option to claim back £30 via Quidco.

How do you win it?

I use a laptop mainly for watching live sporting streams, general surfing and watching dvds(the dvd drive gets a hammering with every laptop i own) i want to use the hdmi port to hook up to a friends tv when at his house(he aint got sky) could i get a bit of advice as to whether this laptop or whether this lenovo with the I3 for circa £365 (10% discount + 6% quidco) is the better buy for my needs please guys? I aint interested in gaming but would like the best quality pic possible when watching through HDMI and when watching dvds.

For what its worth, comet have the same(ish) 17" model but with the i3 processor for £399

Best 17" I could find for under £400
#10
Damn, tempting! Anyone know how good the webcam is on this please? Also the trackpad and screen quality?

Thanks

Agree that is a good deal but after Quidco is taken into account it is about £40 more and does not have the extra years warranty. Comet are asking a ridiculous amount of over £100 for an extra years warranty.

If you really need the extra power of an I3 check out the Comet deal, if you do not want to run the latest games but want to surf the net, use a word processor and spreadsheet, watch a DVD, hook up to your TV via HDMI then you might as well save your money and be reassured by the extra warranty (I expect mine to be used 8+ hours plus every day) by getting the deal I posted from HP direct. For under £350 (after Quidco) it takes some beating.

Bought this beg nov, used HPQUIDCO code so only got 5% discount. Quidco not yet tracked. Can't put an enquiry in for 30 days. Webcam is 2mp & is excellent, trackpad is ok once used to it. Screen quality is excellent. Good value with RUDOLPH (if you can get Quidco to track/pay).

Thanks harry, so tempted, bit concerned that it's maybe too big but this is actually cheaper than the similarly spec'd G62, ahhhh!

Have a look @ this then blize

Bought this direct from HP, Compaq Presario CQ56-110sa

An AMD Athlon II P320 Dual-Core
3GB memory
320 GB Hard
A 15.6" LED High-Definition HP BrightView display
ATI Mobility Radeon HD4250 graphics, with up to 1405MB total available graphics memory
Featuring Wi-Fi (b/g/n) and an Integrated Webcam & Microphone

paid £349 - 10% (code RUDOLPH) = £314 - 8% (quidco) = £289

Thought the dual-core Athlon was probably better than the V140 Semperon in the Currys deal earlier.

NB: Compaq above doesn't have 2yr warranty (unless you buy with Egg Money card).

Tempted to go for this, but seen this on the HP site for a £10 more and looks to be better spec: HP G72-b01sa

Anyone give some advice on which to go for?
#17
That could be perfect actually thanks again harry! Any idea on the webcam quality though please? Sounds lame but that's what I'll be using the laptop for mostly :$ (stupid long distance relationships...)
#18
Also sorry, but what'#s the difference between the CQ56 and the G56? Just the looks?

Depends, the one you have found is described as having 2GB of RAM and a 320GB Hard Disk, when added to your basket though the specifications for the item in your basket state 3GB RAM and 320GB Hard Disk. I imagine that HP will supply what is specified in your basket, in which case it is worth the extra £10. Wish I had spotted that glitch, I just assumed that the only difference was the slightly larger Hard Disk :-(
On the bright side though it means that I don't have to 'waste' any memory chips when I upgrade to 4GB.

Sorry that's between the b01sa and a10sa

Think(?) G = HP & CQ = Compaq
