It's stretching it to say this is a 'gaming' laptop. The ATI 5470 is only an entry level graphics card.

For less money you could get a new Dell XPS 17 with a lot more gaming oomph!

No laptop is really a gaming laptop although. Some may be capable of playing games but because of the size, cooling options simply cannot be fitted. I wouldn't advise anyone to buy a laptop solely for gaming. It's just not sensible when you can get a better pc with better cooling for the price.

If you want a laptop for college/school and want to play the odd game then go for it i guess.

This is not a gaming laptop. And anyone claiming it is is lying/wrong.

At the very least if you are going to claim something is 'gaming' do a basic check on notebookcheck first and see if the GFX chip/card is at least 'midrange'.

I know where you are going with this but to be honest i actually prefer laptops for gaming and the reason for this is that i can crash out on my bed and play games when i dont want to sit up at a desk. I can play it anywhere in the house, hook it up to any of the 3 tv's i have in different rooms and use the xbox controller. I also use it when i travel abroad, on coaches, planes etc (although spare battery required). I can play most games on max and if not mid so no problem there, basically i would be lost without my lappy for gaming.
