Very good laptop, I got one from HP direct last month and have been very pleased with it. Connects to my wifi much better than my previous Acer laptop.

Comparing anything with an Acer doesn't say quality to me.
Having said that, my 1st HP was a nightmare AMD nx6125, which they eventually replaced for a 8510w Mobile Workstation which has been brilliant.

Looks nice, maybe a good family laptop.
Personally, I prefer a higher resolution screen.

Thanks for the valuable feedback.

Hah, wonder where they got the inspiration for that design

Not bad, shame for those buying the HP trade in scheme is now finished

My laptop is dying so been looking for one the last few days - ordered this. Developer at work reckons it is a good piece of kit, his GF has one and never had any problems. Also it is about £450 on play.com! And should get £20ish quidco

Bought one of these for a client and it's good quality. Well worth the money.

I haven't voted either way but the historically poor reliability of HP laptops can be somewhat alleviated with their "HP 2 Year Care Pack w/Pickup and Return Support for Mini and Presario Notebooks" It costs £37.

I guess this adds 1 year to the standard warranty. With Quidco makes this a reasonable, but not fantastic, deal.

Is it just me or does the design looks a lot like a Macbook?

I wouldn't have thought hdmi is an important factor for laptop users (not for me anyway).

i use it now and then for games on the tv but i think most common is to use the laptop to play back media on tv or to output to a higher resolution screen (or even just bigger) for general use.

Actually the specification says there is a HDMI port:

Ports
1 VGA port
1 HDMI port
1 stereo headphone-out
1 microphone-in
3 USB 2.0 ports
1 RJ45 ethernet port
