That is HOT - it was £175 at HP last week and everywhere else has it at £160+.

There's a code for 10% off + free postage in the voucher section which takes the price down to £107.10 - also (potential) further 5% Quidco for consumer sales.

Bargain!

Not to mention they wouldn't know their pop3 from their pop tarts, their pbx from their bmx, or a wan from a wan....
Or perhaps its because theres no mention of a camera so they cant film each other drinking cheap cider and "happy slapping" each other!

I've been using one of these for a few months now and it's a rather good phone! At this price it's an absolute bargain.

Please be aware that not all WM6 software will run on a WM6 smartphone; for example TT6 does not but Route 66 does.

I'm using TT6 on my WM6 Smart Phone - A new XDA Stellar? The HP Employee Purchase Scheme had this phone on offer in Oct for £99 with free delivery, but that was obviously limited access, so this is a great deal! Voted hot!

and more.

In fact, there may be a blackberry connect client for windows mobile standard anyway. - check that before buying though.

itll certainly do pop3 email.
#21
Presumably this is ActiveSync compatible? If so a good candidate for MS Push...
#22
very tempting, I'm going to try and hold out for the O2 orbit tho, really want built in GPS, great price tho!

Lol! That's hilarious! Did you write that comment from your Linux PC or your iMac?

I'd check out the reviews of the more recent Windows Mobile phones before making such a throwaway, ill-informed comment.

S60 is ****, and WM6 is just getting trim enough to be able to be used on lower powered devices. This is a relatively hot deal I would say!
#25
I bought this phone of ebay for £100 a while ago. This really works well takes about 5 days of battery life and email voice reply works really well. great phone, sim free at a good price.

anyone can get skype to work on this phone? i think i need the older version of skype to work. the latest doesn't install properly.
#27
Great deal this. This probably isn't the place to ask, but how do you guys who have one find it? I'm keen to get one, but have doubts about using it with just a phone style keyboard. Would also be interested to hear about the possibility of getting sat nav on it....presumably some add-on needed?

Thanks and voted hot

Haven't used the phone so can not comment on that part of your question. However, to get sat nav it does not have an in-built GPS receiver and you would need to purchase the receiver (that connects via bluetooth and are reasonably cheap on ebay) and the software (TT6 etc etc).

1.3mp camera put me off as its a bit on the low side now for the minimum spec I would consider on a phone. Its a feature I really use on a phone so it's improtant, to me .

Still voted hot tho as I think for what it does and the fact it's sim free it seems a bargain.

??? LOL
Still wanna argue the merits of WM? :-D
Nope, all jokes aside, my personal experience of WM has not been as i'd have liked. Maybe 6 is better? I don't know, but I can only go on past experience. I'm no script kiddy, I run XP on my home PC, I just do 'stable and reliable' in smartphones and Symbian is exactly that plus there are 1000s of cheap apps available for it.

thank you thank you thank you!

I could'nt see in the spec if it runs an SD card. If so what sort?
#36
I have been using a qtek 8080 ( http://www.gsmarena.com/qtek_8080-1166.php ) quite happily for a few years now but its joysticks starting to give up the ghost. This looks like a phone in a similar vein - would it run a external GPS receiver and the software that came with it (currently runs on ms2003) or would I need some updated software? Also I guess it will play mdeia files like my current one does as I like having an mp3 player with me.
#37
The Tom Tom for WM smartphones is different to the Tom Tom for Windows Mobile PDAs. This version should run (I`m running TT on a Virgin "Lobster" Phone which is also a smartphone).

The screen res could be better but then this is HP's cheapest & lowest spec Smartphone. For the price you shouldn't even be expecting the spec that you do get!

The phone supports microSD aka Transflash & I use a 2gb Sandisk.

The 514 connects to GPS units very easily via BT.

Try Coreplayer for Smartphones - works very nicely :-D

For the money you simply can't go wrong - especially if you want to sync with Outlook on your PC or laptop. There's full T9 predictive text with personal dictionary & auto word functionality which is as good as any mobile phone I've used if not better. At this price you can buy, try and if you don't like it ebay it and not lose any money. The three main downfalls of this phone are it's 2.5mm headphone socket instead of the standard 3.5mm although you can buy a converter cable from dealextreme for 75p inc delivery!; the lack of touchscreen means that some WM6 apps won't work and you'll need to find the SM versions;, lastly the camera isn't that great & there's no flash either.
