1440 x 900 according to another site, has a HDMI output, too, not mentioned in the spec.

Excellent deal, would have bought one myself if I hadn't of puchased the Acer 6920G. Bought a refurb from Dixons and arrived in great condition, no faults at all. If you're in the market for a decent laptop you can't go wrong with this one.

i was just looking at the acer and it had a smaller screen, and a slower processor and it was £60 more

Meh, not a huge jump in terms of the processor. The ATi HD 3650 is far better than the 9200 and its what I need really for CAD work etc. But if I had to choose between the HP or the Acer, I would definetely get the HP, great deal.
#10
Holy moly - fantastic price! Suspect it might get sauna like in here.
#11
Nice, though they are refurb...

i would buy one but there £800 coming into my account 800 coming out, another 700 coming out, 200 coming in, i dont know where i am until all these are sorted.

-500, you can thank me later.
#13
hmm, has it got the internet wifi thingy built in?
#14

Nice, though they are refurb...

And this is a bad thing because........?

Refurb... therefore potential problems already discovered, already fixed... Twelve month warranty...

What's not to love?

'Though they are refurb' says you...

'Bloody bargain' says I.

i dont know what you guys are on about, this has built in 802.11a/b/g wireless card so it will work wirelessly!
#19
I can't see any mention of a 12 month warranty, can anyone confirm it?
#20
Just a quick note you guys, the 120EA model does not have the Nvidia 9200 graphics card, it has GMA450, its the 120EM that has the Nvidia 9200 graphics card, as i have this laptop, which was also brought from currys.

wrong, it says in the detailed specs section on currys and dixons that it has: "Nvidia Graphics 9200 (256MB dedicated)".

@coffeeman - "A refurbished product is either end of line stock or returned by a customer. They have been professionally checked, tested, data cleansed, repackaged with all basic accessories and has a full 12 month warranty. No ‘printed' manuals are supplied."

i have this laptop which i bought brand new,
the screen quality is very good my one has nvidia 9200 and thats where the good ends

it has very poor battery life and it always seem to get very hot fast,
the start up seems slow, and HP have annoyingly set the dvd player so it can be only used with different region discs 5 times after that your locked to the last one you used, my last HP did not have this.
Very annoying as i travel to the usa alot.

Also its crashed a few times whilst updating drivers.

I bought mine for £469 which i thought was good for all the features it had, next time i will spend a little more and go with a laptop which has alot of good reviews

Would you know of an amazingly hot laptop deal as good as this one which has the ATI HD 3650, I like many had bad over heating problems with nVidia grapghics chips.
#25
Smaller screen , No blu-ray player,

faster CPU, more ram, bigger HD, slight lower model graphics
#26
whats the diff with this one and the other hp for £409.00 hp6920? as not sure which is best and why?

True, but personally I'm not too bothered about blu-ray or HDMI output, so the Philips is more ideal for me.
Does anyone have any experience with Philips laptops regarding build quality and reliability?
#28
If i add to basket it comes up with
Internal Error
error code = 100
any suggestions

This is what I got mate.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/338445/acer-aspire-6920g-refurbished-459-9/

I'm perfectly happy with it, the 3650 is under Class 2 in notebookcheck.net. Although there have been quite a few good deals on refurbs lately through Currys, Dixons etc. so keep your eye out. The 6920G has no overheating problems at all as the hot air escapes through the monitor hinge.

laptop in transit! Thanx garbage
#35
Yep, same here , although seems to be stuck in Lincoln.
Cheers, H& R added

My first post on here after lurking for a year. Just wanted to thank the op for posting this - mine's on it's way as we speak. :)
#37
Got mine yesterday... Fantastic Laptop. Heat added!
#38
Mine actually arrived as well, despite still showing as 'order in progress' on my account. Hope they forget to charge me................

No sign of it being a refurb. Not a mark on it and I had to go through the usual hour long setup which I assumed would have already been done if it was a return.

Thanks to the OP. I can't leave rep as I have apparently left you some in too short a timeframe before, but cheers anyway.
#39
Got mine now and as merlin says , seems in v good nick with no scratches.
Only complaint i do have is the amount of **** they install on it by default - this is obviously a HP issue tho.
Cheers to OP - am a happy bunny now!
