Own a red one I bought from Currys at £300 when Tesco had a slightly lower spec 3 cell version for £250 so this is a good price.

I love it, but it might be worth trying the trackpad, I had to make a lot of changes and now it's perfect but some people can't get on with it because the buttons are built into it. Sound isn't anything special but that's the same as all netbooks.

It feels far better built than it's rivals from Toshiba and Acer etc with no keyboard flex when typing. Very sturdy thing that I chuck about without a care. Has a great feature in the dual boot with HP's own little linux system for very quick access to the internet and other things.

Battery life is a real 6.5 - 7 hours with wifi on and playing music and videos online. Use mine for spotify for hours at a time, plugged into speakers and I close the lid and just use it like a big mp3 player. Good wifi range, great screen. The media buttons are brilliant for skipping tracks and pausing, really impressed they just work on spotify with me having to do nothing.

Be aware it does run a little hot and the 6 cell battery sticks out the back so it won't fit in some 10" netbook cases.

Voted HOT.

& 3% Quidco too.

Good price. Remember quidco and if you use the Tesco Credit card I think you get even more points :-)

Heat added.

Be aware I added this to my basket the first time and when it came to pay it was £249.99 but when I did it the 2nd time it was the correct price.

link leads to the 160gb version at £229, not 250gb which is £249

Can anyone confirm the resolution on this model/offer (1366 x 768 or 1024 x 576)?

Thanks

Says 3 cell battery in the description. The 6 cell Asus EEE PC 1001P would be my netbook of choice for this price

how does this, and the 1001p above comepare with this £199 from carphone cowboys?

my mum kind would like a little laptop

"Screen Type OLED"

I think Tesco would get rather a lot of takers if they were really selling a notebook for £229 with an OLED screen. :-D

Their web person needs to do a little edit.

Or maybe the Asus EEE £199 deal from PC World if they still have any left. I'm not keen on Dell personally (thats not to say they are all rubbish), but Tosh or Asus would be better budget buys.

I'm sure whatever laptop you buy your mum she will be very pleased with :) My mum has the MSI netbook which is a clone of the HPs and she loves it - and she is useless with anything technology.

fairly sure this has been reduced instore to £199, will check tonight for sure :)

Really? or just LED backlit LCD ?
#17
Also code on the banner on tesco that gives you £10 off making this £220!
#18
Hot price. Ordered a red one for my better half at £249 less £10, through quidco 3% and on a m&s credit card for additional points.

All together now, what do points make?

Does anyone know the resolution of the webcam? Is it 0.3MP or 1.3 MP?
#20
Even that the title in the link says 160gb hdd the description does say 250gb.

Also you may be able to use the code "TDX-CCB2" to get £10 off. So even better price now.
