  Actually, lets not take chances here as the CNet site specced the HDD at 80gb and not 60gb - so there may well be a difference in spec.

  These don't appear to come with an installation key for XP-pro so I'd need to buy an OS?
  
  Also there's a 14" Dell for the same money with the same processor - the smaller form appeals, any thought from those who know more about PCs than i do?

  If you want a regular 4:3 aspect ratio and larger screen I'd go for this, if you want a smaller widescreen choose the d620 - not a lot between them otherwise. If they were sxga+ I'd get one, but I doubt they are.

  No you'd just need to get hold of a disc with windows xp oem on - then use the key.
  It may be worth asking SCH as they definately have them as the laptops I have bought in the past came with them.

  If you already own or can get a hold of an XP disc with the key, you can very easily install and activate it on more than one computer, as Microsoft relaxed the normal restrictions a few years back, with it being an old operating system. I've got my XP home installed on 3 computers.

  just bought the last one the reason it states 1 hour is so they do not have to test it and so that no one can return it if it does has bad battery life some will be good depends. its a lottery some will have a good screen

  I ordered 2, turned up yesterday, missing the chargers for both, and although battered looking, part of me thinks i could live with that...
  However, no chargers, so as they clearly state 7 day money back guarantee, and i paid with Paypal too, i wanna get my money back....
  Emailed the contact on there Terms Page, but as yet, no reply... Wondering whether to raise the dispute in Paypal already ?
  
  Think its hit and miss with the laptops from SCH, some are good, some are bad.... should clearly state if they dont include chargers, etc etc (and yes, i know i can buy chargers on ebay..)

  There's no need to pay for an OS and XP is so dated looking these days. Get onto distrowatch.com and have a look at Mint or Ubuntu. An LXDE based distribution like Lubuntu or Peppermint should run nicely in the limited memory these machines have.

  I ordered the Dell one and had a query re the charger. They replied back within the hour to confirm it did. Also a bit of confusion whether the dell was C2D or Dual Core, no reply to that one yet.
  
  Wanted to try my hand at hackintosh to see what all the fuss was about. New batteries are only £16 at amazon.

  They do definately reply, usually takes the best part of a day. I bought a B Grade Lenovo X61 from them a few week ago and it came with a duff battery. I contacted them via my account and they sent out another battery by courier which arrived next day, unfortunately it turned out to be damaged, I messaged them again and they sent out another battery by courier which also arrived next day and is almost brand new with 120 cycles on the clock and giving me ~5hrs usage on an optimized power management plan.
  
  If you're concerned, they do have a telephone number and answer pretty fast, they've very polite and professional too from my experience.
