price of ink carts has always been a problem with HP compared to the likes of Epson

Yes, would get a blistering hot vote from me if it was an Epson, but had HP before, and they are ridicolous.

HP IS the BEST printer manufacturer there is.
HP HAVE the BEST reputation with business users and home users.
HP HAVE the BEST warranty system.
Except its all done via India and they dont understand English and it is long winded.
BUT its STILL THE BEST.
SO WHY DID HP JOIN THE REST OF THE MANUFACTURERS and rip the user off with Electronics on cartridges and a fingernail amount of ink??????
BUT THEY ARE STILL THE BEST...
Long live HP

I 2nd that about the rip off prices on HP inks, but there are some fine deals on 3rd party inks available.
It's just a bit of hit and miss finding a trusted 3rd party ink brand.

Personaly I am all for Canon. My i865 has removable print heads, for easy cleaning and the generic inks I get off eBay work a treat.

Not this printer... but the likes of the 7260, 7280, 8180 all of which are HP printers take the 363XL Black = £25 per cartridge & prints 1140 pages. As cheap as Laserjet printing. So do your research before buying a printer, instead of slagging it off when you get pwnd for buying a cheap printer and paying through your nose for cartridges.

It's good for the money...

I have the HP Officejet 5610 - I have had it for 4 years now and it hasn't missed a beat, it is used every day as I work at home and must have scanned thousands of documents. I don't pay for the carts but they seem to last a long time.

Excellent.
