Looks like a hot deal I've been looking for a quad core laptop for editing mainly GoPro videos, it has a brilliant dedicated gpu also and full IPS screen! I'd like peoples opinions!
only thing that lets it down is the weight and slow 5400rpm hdd

This looks like a good deal, specs are decent.

For details of the graphics card look under the product information section, just under the videos and you will see it there. I missed it to start with.

Be carefull of this one, I've been traking this for a few weeks. Do a search for the model at HP and you'll see the graphics card is not great. HP told me the are over 100s versions of this P15 and I suspect this is a dog put together for PCW. They turn it of sale last week when I questioned it. Then they were asking £750. Suspect it's worth the price but don't compare it to other P15 you might see reviews for.
#12
so whats the real graphics card for this gtx?
#13
Standard Intel HD530. The model number is 15-ak085na and if you check the HP website you can see that PCW are mis-advertising this one because it hasn't got the GTX950M. http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/products/laptops/product-detail.html?oid=8610971#!tab=models is the link you need.

so is this laptop worth the price? I have been to the stores, Its body feels so cheap and thin plastic, got a feeling things like button might pop off after some use. what got me interested is the i7 6th gen quadcore for that price. A staff member from currys told me (not specific to that laptop) but inn generral for some sales they replace original items with a similar version but made from cheaper components that comes in stock a week before the sales, I was wondering this laptop could be one of them hence the £200 off. Anyways regardless, is this laptop worth the price? thanks

I know everyone was disappointed with the lack of dedicated graphics. But for a proper Skylake i7, full HD screen, 2TB hard drive and backlit keyboard, this still seems a pretty good deal.

Going to pick one up tomorrow and see what I think.

But its made from cheap plastic that may not last long, you would expect a laptop worth £750 would be a premium built, there are laptops worth £400 are built with a better quality material. On top of that, they only release them few weeks before the sale on the sale price, the original price was never £750, it was always £550 for black friday/christmas sales which they specially order a limited quanity for that reason.

Just came back from returning mine, it was indeed made of plastic. It does look good but it DOESNT have a backlit keyboard triple confirmed with HP and Currys. Such a shame

Saw this in store today. As mentioned, it doesn't have a backlit keyboard nor dedicated graphics, however I thought the screen looked great and the materials weren't horrifically bad. Just some fairly nice plastic.

What's the difference between ak085sa and ak085na?
Can we upgrade later on this laptop with SSD? And NVIDIA graphic card?
Any help much appreciated
Thanks

Purchased this from Currys & PC WORLD - HP Pavilion 15-ak085na doesnt have dedicated graphics card. The laptop is good because of the processor 17-6700HQ with 8GB RAM. The HD is 2TB but its not SSD so thats the bottle neck.
The build quality is good, Keyboard is very soft and it flows when you start typing on it. Screen is simply awesome - FULL HD with 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Now the not so good part:
You can see the screen's light from the back of the laptop lid when room's light is turned off. Which suggests that the plastic used is not good enough to be opaque and it feels cheap.

The 2TB HDD costs roughly the same as 250GB Samsung SSD and I asked this guy at PC World to replace it with SSD or just take the mechanical drive out to reduce the price to which he responded "Im sorry we cant do that as we have to sell as one piece and it will also void the warranty."

This laptop with i7-6700HQ (HP Pavilion 15-ak085na) costs £549.00 and same specs with i5 processor (HP Pavilion 15-ab254sa) (without intel's 3D sense camera) costs £399. I think both laptop will perform the same as the 2TB HDD will be the key factor which is the same in both laptops.

I would recommend to buy the one with Intel's i5 processor (HP Pavilion 15-ab254sa) if you do not want to buy SSD otherwise HP Pavilion 15-ak085na

Both processors are Intel's latest 6th Generation at this time of this writing.

hope this helps!

I bought the ak085sa because the price was pretty good for an i7 processor. One annoying thing is that it is almost impossible to open it up. I tried to add another 8Gb memory module and had to give up because there was no way I could get into it without damaging it. I'm quite savvy about this sort of thing and never given up before. Why on earth they designed it like this is beyond understanding.
