Excellent deal!! I've just ordered one. Was about to post myself but looks like you've beat me to it :)
#2

#3
Remember to use Quidco if ordering - 2%
#4
good price for smaller, business laptop.
#5

#6
I like it. Heat added. Thanks
#7
I'm very tempted. The processor alone is £250 on ebuyer.

#9
lol, good deal but dont like the style...
#10
Powerful machine, got a top class processer in it
Also got HDMi so an easy connect to flatties

Will the 32bit see the 4th Gb of RAM?

Is Blu Ray important in a laptop, as it will only be a reader.
If you need a blu ray player get a PS3 or a dedicated player

i mean for that price why not, i would of buy it for sure if it had it
#12
I think this is very hot. Comet are doing the DV2899 model, same spec I believe except it's not the artist edition. They are asking for £549.99 and it's reconditioned.

Has this definitely got a HMDI output on it as I can't see it mentioned anywhere on that page?

If it does then I may be tempted to get that as it's £200 cheaper than what I was looking at and slightly better spec if it does have HDMI, though an inch bigger screen and 0.5 kgs heavier but that doesn't really make a difference to me as I don't really need it to be portable, just a nice bonus so lighter and smaller would be better.

Cheers people, may have to order one of these bad boys then.

Just need to decide if I can handle the design all the time. Initial thoughts are it's great but think that may wear off after a while. Still seems a great price for the spec.

Couple more questions though if anyone can answer:
Would it be possible to do a clean install of XP on this?
Would there be much noticeable difference in performance with a 1066 mhz bus compared to the 800 mhz on this one?
#18
XP won't be a problem HP have provided an XP driver library here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3716703#

Do laptops come with 1066 Mhz bus speeds yet? I was under the impression 800Mhz was the highest intel laptop bus speed?
#19
I was looking at the Samsung Q210/310 (same spec just 12.1" or 13.3") and they have a Core 2 Duo P8400 which is quoted at 1066 MHz data bus speed. I'll find a link to spec and edit this with it.

Not really up on computers but always remember my IT teacher saying that data bus speed was one of the most important factors as it's a major bottleneck.

You will get Windows Vista® Home Premium 32-bit included but it will only recognise 3GB memory to use as system memory.

I bought this which is a very similiar deal to this but with bigger screen & better GFX card, although the CPU & HD is smaller than this plus I got 2 years warranty from JL for just £500. So this deal is quite good for a 14.1" laptop.

HP Pavilion DV2899EA Artist Edition Entertainment Notebook PC is a special edition model hence the limited edtion cover. Trust me the HP laptops are top quality build & worth the extra money & I'm loving mine. I've included some extra spec info.

I stand corrected  I have the T8100 in my laptop and thats 800Mhz, I thought they were all the same.

However the T9300 has double the L2 cache making it more efficient anyhow and would be the one I would go for.

Here is a comparison.

Thanks for the input, much appreciated and will leave some rep in a sec.

Think I'm going to go for this one seeing as I would be able to get this & a BenQ E2200HD for less than the price of the Q310! :w00t:

I can't believe the lack of heat this laptop has received. Anyway they are out of stock now and I get mine tomorrow.

Saying back in stock now as I've just managed to order one. Not too hopeful as no next day delivery option so obviously not actually in stock but interested as it was completely removed from their website and is now back on the home page!!

Don't forget Quidco for another 10er off peeps!!
#33
Got mine today and it looks pretty kool.

The performance I have not tested yet but will be doing a lot of video encoding on it so will report back.

As usual it is full of ****, why does HP do that?
#34
Out of stock again now.
