I found this on the Dabs site on Christmas Day, and wasn't that impressed until I checked out the specifications on the HP website - http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c01479763&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=3677047 - Amazon.co.uk - http://www.amazon.co.uk/HP-Pavilion-A6430-Athlon-Phenon/dp/B001GJDV1E
I ordered one, and after a slight delay (due to me not giving enough-address information), it arrived today. Very impressed, for the price! £349.99 + £8.48 delivery.
(I forgot to go through Quidco, but that should give an extra 3% off to get £339.50 + £8.48 delivery).

The Dabs specifications are sparse, so here are the specs as delivered (and from Amazon/HP):-

- AMD Phenom processor 9500 (this is a quad core, but not a very good one)
- 3 GB DDR2-SDRAM (upgradeable to 8GB if you buy 64 bit Windows separately)
- 500 GB SATA 3G Hard Disk Drive (7200 rpm)
- NVIDIA GeForce 8500 with 512 MB dedicated memory. HDMI and DVI out.
- Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit
- Wireless keyboard and optical mouse
- DVD writer SATA DVD RAM and Double Layer supporting LightScribe technology
- Ethernet 10/100BT integrated network interface
- IEEE 1394 FireWire® Interface
- 15in1 memory card reader
- HP Vista Media Center Remote Control
- TV (analog and DVB-T) tuner card (single tuner I think)
- 7.1 Sound output
- No monitor

This probably isn't as good a deal as the BT Shop (=Dabs) Acer Aspire refurb posted recently, but that's out-of-stock and at the time of posting, this is in stock.
I got a Vista Experience rating of 5.2 (due to the cheapish graphics card).

Looking for a new base unit and all.. custom built one on Arbico was coming around to this price with £20 delivery.

Is the graphics card bad? I'm not up to date on graphics card, processors etc.

I don't want to be a hardcore gamer or anything, just a bit of light gaming maybe eg Sims?

Also, how can you upgrade to 8gb ram? Install the 64bit version of Windows and then it's compatable, I'm not sure on how to do that.. I probably won't even do that, 3gb seems enough..

graphics i would say are just below average, fine for the Sims and older games, should play COD4 at a low-mid res and a few other newer games fine

Oh, thats okay then. I'm not after a gaming PC or anything.

Could I hook it up to my TV with it being HDMI/DVI out?

I also found this deal while looking for a new PC. Placed my order on 31/12 for delivery next week. The spec is very good for the price and left me with enough for a decent 22" monitor to go with it and stay within my original budget.

I did look around and the AMD Phenom 9500 processor is well up in the ratings, comparable with the Intel Core 2 Q6600 (see http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/01/21/review_amd_phenom_9500/page3.html). Most tests suggest it is a bit slower for general use, but faster for graphic intensive applications. Anyway, you couldn't find an equivalent Q6600 for the price, certainly not from a mainstream manufacturer and if you are looking for a high performance gaming machine you should be budgeting much higher.

The hard drive at 500gb is good and 3gb of memory is excellent for the price. also plenty of sockets for your external devices (including Firewire which saves me having to get an extra card).

PS: The same PC is listed on Amazon for £100 more.

Ordered one of these on New Years day as it seems a very good deal for a good quality / top branded quad core pc

Hopefully all will come as advertised but thanks for the post of this deal

Also bought the Matching HP 19" Widescreen Monitor from Dixons for £104.96 delivered with dixons voucher code

So a full quad core HP Pc with 19" Monitor for just over £460

I recently purchased one of these. I get a vista experience score of 5.3 on mine.
I have to say I was in doubt when I ordered it if it was brand new or not, however, I have to say, no faults from dabs, it arrived on time and was brand new.
"- AMD Phenom processor 9500 (this is a quad core, but not a very good one)" - To be honest it isn't a bad processor in my opinion, runs much better than the intel equivilent.
Graphics card is not the best however this is not advertised or build to be a gaming PC and therefore for everyday normal usage is excellent.

BE WARNED:
DO NOT follow the HP instructions provided to copy all of your old files to your new computer using Windows Easy Transfere, because they do not tell you to specify the output drive and it is very easy to accidentally destroy your recovery drive by copying file files from your old PC.

Also this PC is not XP downgradable.

This seems the ideal budget solution for an HTPC. I've been searching for ages!
Wish I'd got the Medion P36888 from Tesco a while back. The only thing this doesn't have is Blu Ray, but for £150 less than the Medion it's a bargain.
HOT!

Thanks Martinmarv.
