Pretty good step up from a netbook. Got one for Xmas for my daughter for about this price.

Plus 15% TCB at the moment

    It's got a 320gb HDD, 4gb memory and an 11.6" screen.

Another £40-odd could get you a bigger screen (15.6"), more ram ((6gb) and larger hdd (600gb):

The point is ......... this is very portable.

I own one and it's a superb little unit. Battery life is excellent - I've had more than 5 hours from mine.

Heat added and ordered one! Thanks OP

Was looking at buying a new laptop and was wondering what people's views on the refurbed ones from the Dell outlet store are?

Quidco has 14% cashback for HP at the moment (I realise 1% less than the mention of TCB's rate above). It always warns not to use other voucher codes with Quidco as your cash back may become invalid etc. Has anyone got any experience of this, particularly on this offer? Thanks.

Can second that, coupon is no longer active

Has anyone installed 64bit on this? I have one but as of yet I haven't got round to installing 64bit. Just curious to see if there is much of a performance increase with it installed?

I have had mine since February and can safely say its a great little machine, use mine for all your general stuff and a bit of gaming on mount and blade, football manager and age of empires 3.

    Battery life is very good.

Ordered mine within a few hours of offer starting. It arrived on Thursday. It has 64 bit Win 7 installed already. Havant installed any other 64 bit programs on it. Seems to run reasonably quickly

I used TCB when I ordered mine. It has not tracked purchase yet so I think you are correct, if you use codes at checkout they don't allow further discounts

I was gutted to miss out on this, however just purchased with a 20% off voucher code for £279.20, tried Quidco too, doubt it will track based on the above. I have posted this as a new deal, please see: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hp-pavilion-dm1-4125ea-11-6-laptop-279-20-from-hp-with-20-off-voucher-1199773 Good luck if you're happy with this and missed out first time round like me!

I have one of these. I like the form factor, the speakers, the keyboard... pretty much everything except the processor

It runs really hot and I've already started to get graphical and audio glitching in the few (cold) months I've had it. It is going to fail. It's just a matter of when (probably just after my warranty runs out)

The onboard graphics benchmark really well but struggle to play even basic games because of the processor and the overheating

So don't kick yourself if you didn't manage to get one

This was what I'm worried about. Had a Paviliion a few years ago and it would get VERY hot. Have heard this is a common problem with HP and which is why I was reluctant to get this. Even though I'm after a netbook of similar specs.

Mine arrived a few days ago but reading the last post I am now worried that it wont last :( Should I take out the extended warranty do you think? Also I read somewhere that I should get rid of all the HP stuff on the machine is this a good idea?
    HereKittyKitty
I dunno. Just be aware of the heat coming off it. Extended warranties can be expensive and you might just be lucky (unlucky?) enough to NOT have it fail. It might be a better idea to look for a home insurance policy that covers laptops...

It's a shame about the processor and the overheating cause I love everything else about it.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a 2nd-gen i3/i5 laptop with a similar size and finish to this. There was good one posted about a week ago (expired now) but it was just slightly too big for me.
