Quite a good price but HP will be launching their range of 16" 16:9 widescreen laptops soon (HDX16) . Acer have just announced theirs (6930 model number I think). But it you can't wait then not a bad deal.

I personally rate HP laptops highly for their quality & reliability. My brother has one and it seems very well put together.

Maybe they will be, but how is that something to wait for? There are 17" laptops all over the place now, and they are hardly comparable with a 15.4" one if you are lugging it about, any more than a 12" laptop is comparable to a 15.4 screen one if you need the extra portability.

This is a fantastic deal compared to some of the 15.4" Dell deals lately. Great spec for the price.
