£749.64 if ordered by phone or on site, but around £37.48 cashback (@ 5%) via Quidco, so possible total £712.16.

But that is twice the money??

I have an older version on the DV6. It is a really nice laptop. Looks good and runs nice too. It does look like they changed the trackpad on these. Suck a shame as the one on mine does work really nicely.

Would this make a good hackintosh?

The trackpad is awful, I ordered one from HP direct and it went back the within a day of arriving as it was so annoying. Can't buy any HP with the same type of trackpad as this..... Reasonable price if you really want to buy one though

I purchased "HP Pavilion DV6-3065ea" from saveonlaptops.com and have to agree with Pjcity that DV6 comes with awful and most annoying trackpads. Even the keyboard layout is not that user friendly. Shortcut keys placed at the both sides of QWERTY keyboard are mistakenly pressed and some random program like calc.exe opens up.

Well, saveonlaptops have the same notebook with 6GB DDR3 RAM with 449GBP. I would suggest potential buyers to buy the 3GB RAM model and buy a seperate 4GB module for 30ish. I doubt that installing RAM may void the warranty. (It works out cheaper this way)
