dont know much about desktops but this looks old and overpriced (even if new probably)

I'd have to disagree brilly, a Core i5 coming with 6GB Ram, 1.5TB Hard Drive and 1GB dedicated graphics isn't too shabby at all. Most desktops that are even near this spec are around 8-900 quid,

It even has 10 USB 2 Slots!!!!! 10 for crying out loud lol, then throws in an extra 2 USB 3's for good measure.

yes its a i5 but its old gen
ram is cheap
1.5tb drive is cheap
1gb dedicted card means nothing - could be worth 30quid or 300

The card is barely better than the 7900GS I had in 2006, and it was a mid range card then.

Only good thing about this system is the CPU and even then I'd be a bit iffy paying close to £600 for the entire system.

Check on Scan for some of their bundles ie motherboard, case, ram, psu and it will give you a rough idea as to how little this is worth.

The graphics card is poor, the ram is low for this price range, the hard drive is ok but performance isn't great as a boot drive...

Hope this helps...

Thanks HellRazer. What about something along these lines?

Now you are getting the idea...

I think i7 is a bit overkill (this is my opinion, I would rather stick with a i5 2500k and overclock it) but that's a decent price for that system. Check to see the postage doesn't kill you, and then buy / install a decent graphics card and you'll have yourself a pretty top spec machine.

But if you wanted a pre built machine what brand would you suggest?

Sorry if my question seems vague, but that's just me in general lol.

Bad experience with Currys & PC World refurbish computers ,no thanks.

CCL they do a custom build service, so you get exactly what you want

Where's its boot drive?

But seriously, I bought an HP about a year ago with the same CPU & amount of RAM for about the same price (£650ish). I don't remember exactly what graphics card it had in it but it was an nVidia GT something. It only had a 640GB HD (though it was 7200 rpm). Don't think it has any USB3.0 ports, never checked.

So either I got a great deal last year, or this is a tad overpriced now.
