Thanks Yezdi. And as far as I can tell, you can't get this anywhere else!

Also I checked, and this is eligible for a free Windows 7 upgrade.

Just ordered, and I think there is only one left!!

Yeah, me and everyone else who ordered one - it's just gone out of stock.

Give me a different laptop with the same spec and 2 year warranty and I'll cancel my order...!

You mean you and the other ONE who ordered it?

Ok, so £50 more but better spec in a lot of departments (far better processor, far better screen(full HD), better graphics card, illuminated keyboard etc) Actually forgot 4% Quidco so roughly the same price I'd say..Oh, and the warranty is 2 yr next day in home inc Saturdays and evenings.

Have you cancelled yet?

this is an awful deal, My brother paid like 500 for a lappy close to them specs
#9
Ok, it's not a deal I would have gone for, but at leat compare like for like. The system in the original post has a 13.4", which aids portability (and tends to me more expensive). At least spec him an equivalent system if your dissing him!

So you're saying John Lewis took this exclusive deal to sell this model from HP and decided to only sell 2? Come off it

deek72
Have you cancelled yet?

Really good try! But no - as psychomech points out, this is a bulky 15.6" without the portability factor. Also it doesn't have Bluetooth & draft-N wireless as the HP. Not to mention HP has better battery life. And a higher score on TrustedReviews.

If you're looking at Dell, it would be more fair to compare with the XPS 13. I customised it to the same-ish spec (without Blu-ray) and it came to £1,037.99!

Again - if you find the same spec or better for the same price - I'll cancel! And apologise!

So you know how many sold before you got there? You said you bought one and there was one left.

I'll tell you what, don't cancel on my account! You go ahead and keep it if it's what you want. You asked me to find a better spec for the same price. I've found a BETTER spec for the same price and you're being extremely crass by downing it because it's got a BIGGER screen? Ha ha! Do me a favour! I quote a FAR, yes FAR better processor, screen (full HD), and graphics card and you come back with bluetooth (FWIW mine includes a bluetooth module) and draft-n (did you miss 'Wireless Networking-Intel WiFi Link 5100 (802.11 a/b/g/n 1X2) 1/2 MiniCard'?)??? Enjoy.
(come to think about it, how DO all these millions of people you see lugging laptops about every day (well, I'm sure they must be somewhere even though I never see them) ever manage to carry that extra 2 inches about???? It defies logic.)
Oh, and look at the spec of the studio 15 on trusted reviews, it's more or less the base model and exactly the same score as the HP for the 4 benchmark scores. Only the overall score is for some reason 1 point more.
Oh and finally: -139 degrees? Could even go colder still yet.
I rest.

Look go ahead and enjoy yours, I need a light-weight and portable lappy and I really like mine - so I'm keeping it!

You're right mate, I concede defeat. Theres no possible market for small and light laptops, I pity any company that tries to release them. Knowing those idiots, they'll think "Hey these are simliar in size to a book and you can get on the net, what could we call them? How about Netbooks?" It'll never catch on. :p

I'm sure there must be a point being made somewhere in there.

Some people want smaller laptops. Smaller laptops cost more. The laptop you suggest does not meet all the OP's criteria. Find an equivalent laptop for less.

I rest ;)
