worth paying the extra £50 for the i5 from HP. you also get a load of free software, some of it is decent too.

use coupon CQ317HPAF22 for 5% off

Topcashback are offering £35 on Window Laptops £400 - £599 at the moment if it helps. Think this should qualify.

Its ridiculous the prices on these poor specs. Looked through and found my Dell invoice in 2012 for the 15r se with i7 3632qm, proper real quad core with ht, was £367. Shameful how 5 years on, a laptop like this gets hot on HUKD but costs way more and benches half what my 5 year old laptop does... cant wait for the Ryzen laptops to stomp on Intels mobile dominance.

That was not a typical price then for a new Intel quad core laptop and isn't now so apart from boasting about the deal you had your post seems pointless.

5 years ago I bought a top spec i7 Sony laptop with wacom screen and that cost £1800. I bought a similar thing recently with top i7 spec and it was £750. I'd say prices have come down.

I have a Lenovo Flex 2 which is similar and has 4th gen i3 and 6gb ram with 1 TB HDD. You can buy that for £200 instead of this £500 machine

Bought one for my wife but went for a 13" version with an SSD inside. They're nice laptops and the 360 hinge is great

Was that a 1080p IPS touchscreen, is it convertible, 8 gb ram, long battery life?

Any idea where I can pick up the Flex 2 for £200?

You have to define what the top i7 spec is, considering the current line of U cpus are for power efficiency and not performance unlike the 3rd gen stuff.

Touchy not feely eh. My oh my some thin skinned individuals like yourself. I can show you the invoice if you want. Basically read my post, wasnt simply about this price but the less than impressive specs as its not a Hq variant of the i7.
