Great Find, been wanting to buy a HP printer for a while because of front loading a cracking price just ordered one and also even cheaper with quidco
#6
Good price, but be aware that like most HP printers this one goes through ink pretty quickly and replacement cartridges are expensive. There have also been some issues with the paper feeder mechanism not always working properly.
#7
I bought this printer with my macbook pro last month.
Its a great bit of kit - I've had no problems at all.

Its great to be able to print completely wirelessly by plugging the printer in to my wireless router.

Looks like a good price but I have the hp psc 1355 model which is an all in one printer scanner copier . The paper feed continually jams , well it says its jammed and stops printing but i can never actually find anything jamming it. It never really printed photographs properly either seeming to have a real problem with the photo paper feed and jamming part way through printing on every occassion. Those problems and the cost of the ink cartridges have put me off buying HP again .
#9
Lot's of reports of paper jamming problems with this printer.

I know, I can't decide whether to get one or not based on these reported problems. Some people have said it works fine, but an over-whelming number of people have reported issues. For £45, I might take a gamble.

surely if it jams u can send it back...i suppose its just a case of whether its worth the aggro..

I have purchased a total of 5 of these printers and every single one of them has been flawless. I'm going to buy another one because the price is excellent and I'd like to keep one for a backup. :D
#13
Personally I've my reservations, I've an HP all in one at the moment and it's been nothing be trouble - it's being skipped at the earliest opportunity, ie when the next cartridge runs out. There is also a fatal error with windows XP which is only partly fixed by the patch on their site. The bloated software also seems to conflict with my HP scanner - great.

They look quite nice (better quality plastic than say a Lexmark, but there's no build quality for the internal components - they seem designed to last about 12-18 months and then start giving you hassle.

In terms of buying and returning it if it gives you grief, this is all fine and dandy as long as you haven't parted with £££ for cartridges just before it decides to be cantankerous.
HP don't supply spares and will not repair a 13 month old printer, which IMHO is a disgusting attitude and a sure-fire way of creating more landfill.

Why do you need 5 printers may I ask? It looks like it is worth the gamble then - I'll order one tomorrow. You'd recommend it then? Seeing as you have 5!

is this printer coming with any inks? my bf purchased the same one a year ago with 2 inks coming with.

All printers come with enough ink to get you started, although the cartridges they give you are usually a slightly lower capacity than buying new ones.

Welcome to the HUKD forums seraph!!! ;-)

My HP 1350 psc is going in the skip its given me untold problems that HP seemingly cannot and will not fix...I bought 2 new cartridges for the damn thing just before it started acting up so am not happy..If you want to replace your printer in 8 months time then go ahead buy this one...

I will never buy another HP printer as they drink ink like water and the carts are very expensive, they only have a 2 cart system aswell so running costs of these printers is very expensive..:x

I would leave these cheap and nasty HP's well alone..I have just ordeed my self a new printer from Amazon and can't wait for it to arrive now..:)

I've got one at home and four at various single user PC's around the company.

Ordered a 2nd one for home.

Does anyone happen to know if this is in-store as well? I wouldn't mind stopping in Regent Street on the way home from work...

out of interest, which one did you buy?
#25
Mine arrived this morning! Top printer, and fab network support! Better than a print server!
#26
I ordered one of these yesterday at 16:18. It arrived this afternoon! I dont have the time to get it setup properly tonight but ive tried a couple prints.

I plugged my USB memory stick in and printed off an A4 borderless of my motorbikes easily. The colour lcd acts as a good slideshow so you can pick your images with ease. I connected my phone to it via usb and printed another a4 borderless directly from the phone.

Ill get the networking sorted out tomorrow when ill be sober again :w00t: but im pretty impressed so far as ive not even connected to a computer yet and am getting good results!

Hi.

Does anyone know if this printer works with Vista (with network and scan functionality?)

Thanks
#28
Basies, it does work with Vista with full functionality. I use Vista. You need to download the Vista driver from HP (not on the included CD in the box). It's about 150MB though.

Mine arrived within 24 hours and from the testing I've done (over a network), I've been very impressed.

Receive the printer this afternoon. Fast delivery ordered the day before.

Just manage to setup the printer. The installation takes quite a while.
Only test normal print have'nt try photo print yet. What can I say? Really amaze with the build quality. Faster and quiter than my previous lexmark printer but I miss the lexmark printing voice... "Printing started"
Just 1 complain though, no usb cable included :-(

Overall great printer!!

I get 450 pages out of each cartridge set on mine and its only the old ones that jam, these are a newer revision.
