that and they don't work with IE7 so you can't use any of the quick buttons, i.e. if you want to scan or photocopy you can't just press the one button on the printer as the software does not work with IE7 installed.

HP's solution. Uninstall IE7 and use IE6...what the hell sort of solution is that
