Same price everywhere. It's very much the jack of all trades but certainly not a master of any.

Sorry where have you seen this for the same price? Just curious... Google Shopping comes up with the cheapest price of £65 and thats ebay!! Standard price is about £90.

I really dont understand your price comment sicknote. I cant find this anywhere else for anything close to the Tesco price!

Ebuyer: £101.72 (delivered)
PC World £99.99
Argos £99.82
Pixmania £99.90
Amazon £64.68

OK, granted the printer has some varied reviews, but having read a few I would say the following is a reasonable breakdown.

Pros
Ethernet Networking
6 SIngle Colour Cartridges
Speed: 15 x 10cm photo in a realistic time of 20 seconds (HP claimed 12 secs)
Memory Card Slots: SD,XD Memory Stick and Compact Flash
Mac OS X Leopard compatible

Cons
Poor plain paper photo and copy reproduction
No Pictbridge

Personally the Pros far outweigh the Cons for me and definitely a Hot Deal at this price - Heat Added!

I looked at these in Staples (Southampton) last week. The assistant told me that they were ok "as a jack of all trades, master of none".

Oh, before anyone starts crying - it's a hot deal and I voted hot.

Yeah - I got this for about 70 a couple of months back. It even came with all the inks (although I cant vouch it will from Tesco)

It's a fine printer - using the HP photo paper the phot quality was excellent, scans are dodgy (not tried doing a direct copy - not worth it as the colors need tweaking always), and regular printing is pretty fast. And best of all it seems to be very efficient on ink - the missus is a teacher and prints a LOT, and all inks are showing full. An ink pack with photo paper is about 25 quid iirc, which makes it waaaay cheaper than out old printer which had black only at around £30 and lasted about 3 weeks.

And on top of that, this has ethernet, so you don't need a PC on to print across the network!

Hot - I'd buy again if I didnt already have one!

good find ......

Anyone have a link to that printer posted a few days ago for about £25? Looked really good. Help please!
#9
Just bought a new set of inks for mine - would have been better buying a new printer at that price!
Voted hot as i paid £140 for mine when it came out. It's a great printer, scanner and copier.

I think you are talking about the Canon Pixma All in One from Ebuyer which has since expired?

The price is now £35.92 + Del
#11
Thanks mate, I think that's the one. Should have got it whilst it was on!
#12
Good find, been looking to replace my old printer for ages.

Go through Quidco to get 3% back. The adding a sim card to get free delivery thing still seems to work too.
#13
got the canon from the ebuyer deal. fantastic printer/scanner/photocopier.

Not sure what the HP comes with but the canon has some software bundled that when you scan a book in it knows its text and its ready to paste into word for example, which I think I'll find handy. Last time I had a scanner was 4 years ago so if thats a standard feature then great.

As for the actual machine build quality is fantastic - better than my HP D5160 (I use that for CD printing for labelling mixes). If the canon printed on DVDs/CDs I'd get rid of my HP.

If the canons just 35 + delivery at ebuyer, I'd still recommend it, probably over this as you can get black and coloured inks for just £20 (a link is in the original canon thread)

The canon wont be the best there is but neither is this and the canon is still cheaper than this deal.

The deal itself is a good one for a HP all in one so rep for the OP.

Picked up an HP C3180 a while back at about 35 quid.
Very pleased, so if this is in the same league then top find!
Might treat the old man to one as a Late Father's Day prezzie!

<£50 instore in Tesco. My relative bought one thinking it had a camera (it's got an LCD screen) and I took it back for them. I can tell you it's massive and ways a load. I'd keep it myself (HP make beautiful printers) but the cost of replacement ink is high as HP copy ink seems rare.

Bargain if you don't mind the ink cost.

how much or inks???? anyone know

I did see this in Tesco for £59..

I also found the very the similar C5280 for £59.99 (and QuidCo available) through Comet - "Print, scan and copy documents with ease using this HP printer with preview screen and card reader. It will also print directly onto CDs and DVDs." Seems good to me for the money and I've mine ready to set up later.

URL="http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/403784/HP-C5280"[/URL]

Presumably, you can then do the PCWorld price promise.

The 5280 might be worth the extra £10:thinking:

http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF02a/5043-5527-7369133.html

Better scanning resolution and memory card reading.

Seems you have some ink options on the 5280 too
#24
Don't forget this is a network printer as well tho - the main reason i chose this - was very easy to set up, and now i can print from my laptop, my PC, or my GF's laptop, even if my main PC isnt powered on. You can even scan over the network, although this is less useful if your some way aways!
#25
Inks were about 23 quid in PCW when I got mine. That was for all black and 6 colors and 150 photo sheets i think. Which seemed pretty bargainous to me!
#26
Out of Stock now.
#27
bargain paid £150 for this a year back.
#28
Tried hooking it up using the network option & can now print/scan from both my main PC and the laptop which I couldnt before (had to transfer files from the laptop to the PC to print.).

Was a doddle to set up.

Went to get the c5180 from Tesco, but seen they had the c5280 for £60 so got that.

cheers andy', heat n rep ..........

c5280 has different inks i prefer the 6 seperate inks with this.

But you can get refills and compatables with the 5280, which is why I thought it was a better proposition.

Bought one of these instore at Denton Branch, 3 failed attempts to install C5180 on Vista with disc and downloaded driver from hp site so returned it to store and exchanged for a C5280 which is Vista verified for extra £10 installed perfectly (downloaded driver etc from hp site not from disc).
