Get one of these while you can as they are discontinued but excellent. I am very impressed with the print quality especially the photo print quality. This unit can also scan negatives and slides so is a great all-round photo device.

Given all the features including Wireless (WiFi and Bluetooth) and Ethernet printing it is a real bargain. You can even send scans and images from the built-in card reader direct to any connected PC from the printer control panel! Great for when you have PC's all over the house but the printer centrally.

I have mine set up wireless with a iMac and a PC running XP without problem. Dead easy as you set the wireless settings direct on the printer before installing any software!

Ridiculously expensive piece of kit. Office gear, so vastly overpriced for home user who mostly print a few letters or the odd photo.
Reviews -(http://alatest.com/hp_photosmart_c7180/printers/expert_reviews/pe-34617063,31/are )very mixed anyway, slow seems to be the common comment.

Most of the reviews I have read are rubbish! Full of inaccurate statements about the quality and even the functions of this great machine.

I for one am glad I ignored them as this is a great machine to share between a modern household with more than one PC (or Mac).

Just to dispel some of the more obvious errors I spotted in reviews:

Memory cards can be read over the network! But it is even better than this. Pop your card in one of the reader slots and a menu comes up asking if you want to print or save the images. If you choose save then it asks which PC (or Mac) you want to send them to. When you now go to your PC (or Mac) the images are ready to import (such as into iPhoto on Macs). Simple and straight forward!

The same goes for scans. You can choose what type of scan to make (even direct to PDF) and then choose which PC to send it to! All wirelessly! Great.

Some say text quality is poor, rubbish. It is a good as a laser printer. I can only think the reviewers failed to perform the alignment routine correctly as once done text is razor sharp. Prints are very quick for normal quality tasks, especially for home use.

You can send a FAX from any application even wirelessly! Many reviews (and some users) say you can't. Maybe they did not install the software correctly (a second printer is added but has the name FAX after it).

The quality of the scanned output is very good. So much so you can see all the defects in the originals!

In fact most reviews seem to just copy what another review says, a case of follow my leader!

Maybe when this item was first released it was too expensive, leading to the poor reviews, but at it's current price it is a very good buy. You can get a set of all six ink tanks with 150 sheets of 4x6 glossy paper in a kit for £19.75 so supplies are reasonably priced. As the latest model uses the same supplies (but costs double) there is no problem in obtaining consumables.

I can recommend this to anyone who needs a network shared printer/scanner with great features. No other all-in-one is available at this price with all these features and great quality.

sorry but from all the reviews ive read this is a naf printer, was gonna get 1 myself a while back ( pc world has had it at that price for a few weeks now) but after reading all reviews and magazine articles decided well against it

Was going to order this today, just not sure what to do now. Was torn between this and the Brother dcp-770cw, similar price/spec. Anybody have any views on either of these?

I bought an HP C7280 from Staples a month ago for the same price using their trade-in offer, I would imagine this model has similar specs and I'm very pleased with mine.

As I posted above the reviews for this machine are not accurate! Most have just copied what another reviewer has said. At its original price it was too expensive but at the current price it is a good buy for a networked multifunction unit.

I am very impressed with all the features and quality so far. Stop reading the reviews, including those by owners who clearly have not set-up the device correctly (and god knows how they failed as it is so easy!), and try it yourself.

Thanks. I brought one today. Where can you buy the ink & glossy paper pack for £19.75?
