what are lights out cards?

well a lights out card is a device that allows you to connect via the web interface to the hardware level of the machine so imagine remote control software but at a boot and bios level.
Its more for people that want to use as a proper server not required unless you want this capacity or u think that you can re-sell on ebay after the refund just thought i would mention it.

It's a remote management card/system - that's what the link that says 'Remote Management offer' at the top is about.

This isn't included though, so you would have to pay another £140 approx on a 'lights out card' to get that £140 back and then sell the card on eBay.

As for the price of the server itself, this is the standard 'web' price for theis bit of kit at the moment. There are places which have this for about £400 :?, but there are an equal number who have it for £99 + VAT as well.

We use these as test boxes are work and they are LOUD!

hmm ay be the standard price as you say but every single outlet is sold out these are in stock

HP have been trying to shift these for the last couple of months - we had an offer of £49 from our trade supplier - anyways as stated these are pretty ****** machines but are ok for a home server if u add some storage ( tucked away out of hearing range!!)
