Good price. These are £198 on the UK HP Staff Store.

Good price but perhaps a bit misleading of them to call it a PC when in fact it's just a big Android tablet with so-so spec. Still, may be good for someone.

Yeah might be worth adding Android in the title.

I bought one a few month ago - it really is nice, the screen is superb. Also seems to operate very smoothly. Heat.

Does this thing have a battery? What about a microphone?

Could I be that guy and sit there making phone calls (over wifi obv) on my handheld telly?

...oh no, here we go again! heat given for great price but limited kit.

Bought one of these a couple of months back and it is great. It is not really a tablet or a laptop - perhaps would be better if it was called a tabtop LOL.

Surely "laplet"?

Not much use as a "PC" cos well it isn't one! however it would make a good device for watching films on? anyone know what voltage output the adapter is? if it's 12v it would be ideal without the keyboard and mouse in the caravan.
#13
Caution people, only works with the plug socket on.

Just a typical review banged out by a professional reviewer who probably used the thing for a whole two hours, and probably decided he didn't like the idea beforehand (as well as reviewing it based on a higher price).

The comments from people who actually own them and have used them for extended periods of time are 'by and large' the polar opposite, generally they seem to love the device (assuming they have a sensible use case for it).

Just because a reviewer says something sucks, doesn't mean it does. If the internet has taught me anything it's that professional reviewers suck. Doesn't matter whether it's music, movies, tech gear... whatever, the opinion of any professional critic/reviewer is almost entirely worthless.

I bought this to use as a portable tv for my bedroom. I live in holland and I can use the film on app for British tv and dutch app for local tv. I can also use hola to access itv, bbc player and 40d.Might be handy for someone caravaning abroad as long as they have electric. I might look a bit stupid on my way back to holland from nr. Ireland when they ask me if it's fully charged at the airport.

Having owned one of these for about 3 months - absolutely love but......
This is a massive tablet (mains powered) - not what you would class as a computer/laptop it really depends on what your needs are.
Me I use it for reading news in the morning, checking email and remote desktop into work PC upstairs - which is superb BTW.

Scaling on webpages is a bit hit and miss - some webistes think you are browsing from a andriod phone so adjust experience accordingly.

Neighbours kids (7,9,12) love it (games) - don't know if big screen or touchscreen - but at price grubby fingerprints not an issue.

Plugging phone in to charge causes occasional crash but mainly browser - and could be user error.

Downloading files still haven't mastered - menu bar at top - but again could be user error - not android expert.

Movies, music, bluetooth excellent. I have close to back garden and occasionally stream to bluetooth speaker and have to say very good in the main - but no obstructions.

White does get grubby looking quickly but quick wipe and good as new.

IMO as long as you are not looking at computer/laptop replacement then great purchase - when working from home and use about 8-10 hours a day. Hope this helps.

Its been this price for a few months. I bought one and sent it back. Nothing wrong with it, just realised it was an impulse buy. It will work as a TV with the Apps (I had SkyGo etc working on it with no problems. The keyboard and mouse is handy, but as its a touch screen, you can manage without. No real complaints about it and at this price I'm tempted to get it again tbh.

It looks like it is only 8gb memory, with the issues with using apps from SD cards, that seems quite limiting...

Thanks, just ordered with code as I need a larger screen than my current 8" Tab 3 for everyday use.

What price for a 10 inch tablet? For home only use this seems a bargain given the screen size.
#27
I bought it for £199 about three months back and love it!!
Remember it is android, not windows. Excellent for browsing internet, e-mail and playing with loads of apps and games- touchscreen is brilliant and sensitive. Bright sharp display, excellent sound quality. I stream movies and music from my WD Mybook Live (Home cloud) without any problems. Startup and shutdown in seconds !!
IMHO better (and cheaper) than a laptop or desktop for most users.

I could be wrong here but I think the reason its called a PC is because the built in camera can be used for surveillance or to record surrounding activities and used as evidence in a court of law!

Would you be able to hold this screen on your lap in portrait mode or will it only display in landscape?

Contemplating it as a big screen I could read graphic novels/comics on while in the armchair without having to scroll/zoom around the book like you have to with smaller tablets. Appreciate it needs to be plugged in!

Strange they bundle it with a wired keyboard/mouse; could a bluetooth mouse be used or would Android not have the drivers for the dongle?
#33
Great for a kitchen tv to stream to using sky go etc.

Also as it has a keyboard and mouse perfect to stream desktop from a normal pc, I would be quite interested to see if I could stream my rts games from my pc to one of these and if they would be playable.

Why not just but a monitor and android stick? Cheaper and more flexible.
