linx 7 or hipstreet w7 are less for the similar/same features.

office 365 usually tied to the device as it comes preinstalled and self activates (no code visible)

The office liscence can be used on this device AND another.
This and the Linx are the same spec. Because this is HP however the build quality and screen may be better.

I got a Linx 10 in the staples sale and I am totally in love with it but it does feel a little cheap.

I've seen the HP screen in PC world and its not great. The Linx 8 is the first one that has a decent screen.

You can extract the licence code for Office 365 by taking the licence key out of the URL upon initial registration. The Linx 8/10 deals explain exactly how it is done (I am personally using an Office 365 key from a HUKD'er who extracted it from his Linx 8. Cost me a tenner :) ).

Speaking of awful screens - I saw the HP Stream 11 in Currys the other day. I can't remember the last time I saw such a terrible screen. Washed out, non-IPS & non touch screen too.
HP really need to start putting better screens in these devices...Linx 8/10 show that it can be done.

Bad logic :). HP are one of the worst manufacturer's for reliability....and the Stream 7/11 screens are woeful! The Linx 8/10 are the best ones to go for...
OR, if you can afford it, get the Asus T100. No compromises - and works like a proper 'LAP'top when you need it to (no silly kick stands like on the Surface Pro, or stupid origami keyboard cases as on the Linx 10).

Sorry, I should have clarified. The HP Stream is an 11" 32GB eMMC portable laptop. Pretty much every one of the same design from other manufacturers is now touch screen....but the one I tested was just a matte, non-IPS, non touchscreen pig of a machine!

I think the linx 7works out better as it's cheaper and also has £30 trade in offer available.

The screen on the 7 is pretty rubbish.
Better going for the Linx 8 from Very. £99 less £30 for new customers using a credit account (final price of £69).

You can also get the Linx 8 from Amazon for £89, which doesn't make this HP Stream 7 much of a deal.

With the Linx 8 you get a bigger and better screen and you also won't have the audio interference issue seen in a lot of the 7" Windows tablets when earphones are plugged in.
