I was about to come on here and complain about how Yodel still haven't delivered mine but that sucks even more.
If I received till receipts from them confirming payment taken for these goods, didn't they come into law bounding contract with me? I know it is distance sales, but receipts were sent to me by post and I have all the goods details on them. So do I have to accept their cancelation?

yes you are right. it might be worth using as leverage to get something out of it. i don't think you need receipts- as soon as payment is taken (not just "ring-fenced") a contract is formed.

Did you think about possibility that this is not your parcel at all ??
Since there is such a mess maybe you got wrong tracking number ;)
That is what I mean. I've been told 5 different stories about my HP Touchpad that I will actualy never get, even though money was taken 2 over a week ago ;)
