Available for under £1,400 at other places; use Google products search.

just not a good product for the price, you could build a better system. supermicro xeon board, xeon cpu, EEC ram and SAS HDD possibly less money to build better system
#9
very cold - not worth this kind of money

This is why I've been saying for ages - and posted many a time - that there should be 2 votes. One for the compared to price and one for the worth price. Deal temp could be worked out from that.

True this is the cheapest around on a quick search, but you won't find me dipping quite so deep any time soon.

If it was Asda selling this it would be red hot, alas the silly people got in first..(_;)

Does anyone really need a PC that fast or is this just virtual oneupmanship?
#14
"640k is enough for eveybody"

Noone needs more than an atom processor etc...

It's only a 2GHz quad core with no HT or Turbo-boost so it's nothing special.

I think bill gates said that in 198x that time no one did need more than 640k of ram.

However in tems of "speed" this is slow, and I could build a much better and as stable XEON system for less. the xeon cpu is for workstations and servers where everything needs to be stable and not crash every five minutes, this will not even meet that as servers need to use enterprise standard SAS hard drives, where this has a bog standard sata, 3GB of ram!!! THIS IS WORSE THAN A MAC in terms of pricing

just becuase some one is selling it for 2700 or 27000 its makes no difference, its still a cold deal..

Its like if the RRP of item is/was £200 and you found it for £100, it does not make it a hot deal even if its being sold at £200 in some places. also this is ment for business use, infact for stupid IT managers who have a large amount of someone elses money to burn.

anyway server / workstation prices are over inflated anyway, but this looks like a cheaper end machine
