must visit place for any history buff and fun for kids. This is the place associated with henry 8th.

Both venues are also on the Days out 2 for 1 offer, although you need a train ticket for that (but you can buy a cheap train ticket just to redeem the offer), and ideally be visiting in multiples of 2. But it's valid until 30 April so useful for those who can't visit before this offer expires.

Days Out Guide
We live not so far from there. We have been there a few times. It is lovely and well kept. I think it is good for a nice family day out or romantic people. We go with small children, they love the maze, we make our sandwiches but you can buy food there and there are some restaurants around the castle. There is a pier too so you can go to Richmond or Kingston by boat. So it is a really nice place :-)
Senior and disabled tickets are even cheaper, went a couple of weeks ago and had a very enjoyable day, the staff couldnt be more helpfull.

hahaha. what a coincidence. just got back from Hampton Court palace. and of course I used the half priced tickets.

As Qasim7 asked, is it worth it in the cold? I've lived around the area for 9 years and never bothered going!

Guys, to be honest this was my first time. So i dont know the deference. But gardens were well kept. Not much flowers to see. But most of the gardens were still green. There was this grape vine. Apparently it's the biggest vine in the world. Again no leafs on the vine.
Indoor stuff was really great. So much to see. People who work there are really friendly and if you talk to them they will tell you everything about the castle.
Don't forget the maze. Its in really good condition. I'm pretty sure it's the same in summer.
It's definitely worth going there. Plus not much people around. So you can have your own adventure in the castle. Lol
Don't forget, if you buy ticket online, tickets need to be collected from the ticket office there. Make sure you print your online confirmation.
Think thats it guys. It's totally worth going. If you have any question, let me know.

Recreates your wedding knight?

Get me coat....

This looks so much like it should have a removable codpiece section through which you could post your 'tackle'.
Not sure if that would make it more or less fun at BBQs.....
Your thinking of the fly fishing apron, it has an opening for maggots.

Looks a great deal, thanks op will look this up.
The giftaid thing means the charity or organization can claim back the tax that you have already paid. You can only claim part back if you are a higher tax banding. Gift aid is set at 20%. If you pay 40% or 45% you can claim the difference between the 20% and the 40/45%

Also as an annual membership you can buy it via gift aid so higher rate tax payers can get 25% back via a filing a tax return

I thought this just applied to gift to charities, not to personal purchases, does it not?

If you gift aid it you are not making a purchase: you are donating the money to charity and they are coindentally giving an annual pass for free at the same time

Mrs Warren - I went to my local train station and picked up the useful booklet "London attractions 2 for 1 when you go by train".
x6 fill in coupons on back page.Plenty of places to visit on 2 for 1 deal.
Oh wow that's a really good shout. I didn't know they had voucher things. I saw it on it on a 241 poster on the train so went straight to website rather than pick up the leaflet. That's really handy as I don't always plan what we are going to do so rathe r than 20 print outs in bag I will grab grab a voucher leaflet thing. Thanks for that x

Gift Aid works on the basis of being a UK Resident (cos you will be taxed regardless, Income Tax, VAT, Petrol, Ciggies, etc) or an employed overseas one & allows the charity to get another 28% on your 'donation'.

So this deal applies to all except tourists - and how many of these are on HUKD?

Happy to be corrected...

You must have paid enough income or capital gains tax to cover the amount of tax the charity will reclaim.

Happy to correct you
The Banqueting House is only £4.50 admission so I assume that you are better off making this your first visit and doing the deal on this price.:)
Are you sure it entitles you to entry to ANY palace? I went to Windsor castle a few weeks ago and was asked if I am tax payer (which I am), so was able to fill out a form, and get my ticket stamped, which I could then reproduce any time in the next 12 months to get free entry to Windsor Castle again. Don't know if I would ever want to go back twice in the one year, but it matters not anyway, as the stamp they gave me smudged completely off my glossy ticket. I don't think they would accept a smudge of blue ink as an official stamp.

so we only get the free ticket when you directly visit some place....is there any way we could get it via online...pls inform...thank you

Unfortunately yes hense why its in deals not freebies, to be fair the £16 (i think) entrance fee is more than worth it and any of these palaces are worth more than one visit.
