I just googled the website, it has some very bad reviews on customer service.

I went for this tariff through T-Mobile and was surprised to see that instead of

300 mins
300 texts
unlimited internet

I actually had

300 mins
unlimited texts
unlimited internet

I read somewhere that T-Mobile give unlimited internet for free with android handsets, leaving you to pick an additional free booster.

Plus, the phone is awesome!
#4
I so want this phone! I've got a G1 and my upgrade is June! Might not stay with T-Mobile though as there are other deals around.

Heat added as it's a good spot.

just a heads up at least a weeks wait on this phone from beepy im waiting now:x

Assuming quidco tracks okay (£150) a legend works out at 13.75 per month through vodafone. Is the Desire worth the extra?
(I'm in the process of trying to decide and would like helpful feedback myself - thanks:whistling:)

this link shows another deal from the same company , as for the bad reviews most people only post a review when they want to moan about something , plenty of people would of had a good experience with them as you can see by the comments in the link i've added

Its not just the phone though. The vodafone deal is a miserly 100 minutes. That's not enough for me anyway - I think this deal with 300 mins and a vastly better phone is worth the extra.

But you pays yer money.......

I am getting Desire tomorrow through Quidco and Vodafone site, decided! Don't think the Google is worth the extra 5/month.

This phone is being marketed way too cheap tbh and people looking to spend more money will dismiss it despite being one of the best ones on the Market at the minute
#13
This looks good! Can you Get this deal going through t-mobile?

anyone know the difference in SAR rating between this and the Nexus One?

I got the same deal, the unlimited texts is from the free booster. The unlimited internet is the included 3GB FUP :-)

Please tell me you paid more through t-mobile direct... :whistling:

I got this handset today on T-Mobile.

I saw another thread for the HTC HD2 and watched the YouTube reviews etc and thought it was the phone for me, unfortunately - when I saw it live in the T-Mobile shop I suddenly realised how enormous it actually is.

So I saw the Desire and had a play and have gotta say it is the best phone I have ever had.

I come from a Nokia E71 and have tried moving away from Nokia in the past only to run back to them after a day or so swapping to the latest Nokia due to the vast differences in navigation and usability of other makes. I was worried this would be the same, but it really isn't .. it's awesome, very user friendly and although it doesn't have anywhere near as many apps as the iPhone it has more than enough for me :)

I got it on the Business Unlimited tariff, I said I was a self employed sole trader and the guy just accepted it without any ID or letterhead or anything so I got the handset for free and unlimited calls/texts/data for £35 a month. Considering Tesco unlimited is £30 a month SIM only I think this is a fantastic deal.

The above deal looks good too but as with others nowhere near enough minutes for me.

Like you I thought T-Mobile wouldn't be able to get anywhere near some of the deals that are flying round at the moment so I called to cancel my old contract. To my surprise they did and long story short I ended up with

300 mins
Unlimited texts
Unlimited internet and the Desire handset for £20 - you read it right 20 pounds!
And all for £15 per month!

24 month contract but its better than any other deal I've seen.

For those who haven't heard it enough, these phones are just amazing. My wife has since ordered one and a few mates. Just can't go wrong.

Am I right in thinking that Tmobile automatically give free internet to an android phone? So with this offer we could change the free booster (currently free internet) to unlimited sms, then we would be getting 300 mins, ultd txts + internet for £15 a month?

That exactly what happened to me (see my earlier post). Took me a few days to realise it mind because I though I wa ordering the 300 mins 300 gets option, but to my surprise ... and man is it helpful having unlimited texts.

The internet is included plus 300min 300 text plus an Inclusive Flexible Booster at no extra charge:

which can be one of these and I think can be changed each month

Unlimited Texts
Unlimited Internet
Unlimited T-Mobile Talk
Unlimited Landline Talk
Euro 5 Talk & Text
EU & Australasia Talk
USA & Canada Talk

Not wanting to state the obvious but that's almost twice as much money per month

Yup. I'm not so sure these third party deals include the free booster though (part of the reason they are cheaper)

Well I got mine at £24/mo and £87 for the phone on Saturday and they wouldn't budge. Was better than the deals online though. As you get the much larger data allowance it is a good deal over other networks. You can tether the Desire easily and 3GB Mobile Broadband would cost you £10/15/mo separately.
#25
Looks like a good deal. Voted hot.

In Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Internet Sharing

It is greyed out and when I press it nothing happens, do I need to ring T-Mobile to have it activated?
#27
When these companie say 'Unlimited calls' do they mean to other mobiles or to landlines or to both?

It's been a while since I had a contract phone but I am getting tempted by these new smart phones.

Well that depends on the contract. T-Mobile allow you to add one 'Flexible Booster' to your contract, which you can switch between. Their two main call boosters are 'Unlimited T-Mobile Talk', so that's free calls to other T-Mobile UK customers, and 'Unlimited Landline Talk', which is free calls to UK landine numbers.

Not really, as its a Vodafone exclusive they don't feel the need to be competitive. You can see the deals on it on the Vodafone site. It's available from Friday.

Hmm don't know. I just plug mine in and I have the option of:

Charge Only
HTC sync
Disk Drive
Internet sharing with PC

I can select the last option without any problem although I haven't actually tried to get online with it..

It's already 4 months old I can't see why anyone would choose it over the new Desire.

Plus as the other guy said the Vodafone deals are awful in comparison.
#33
Heat added,

But I went for the HTC HD2 instead for £1 cheaper !
Been after it for a while but cheapest I could find was £106 + £20 pm or £210 + £15 pm

So the HD2 works out @ £53 (after quidco) and £15 pm

Cheers for the heads up

Just wanted to say to those who don't know much about this phone or HTC, this phone is phenomenal. Best phone out atm, it's awesome. Don't be afraid to purchase one, they can do pretty much anything :)

A few weeks/months from now you'll appreciate the extra real estate of the Desire.

I'd be surprised if Beepy can honour this deal as there's no stock anywhere until at least 28/04/10 and that's subject to change because of cancelled flights.

I'd definitely ring and check stock first.

It's NOT 500MB that is the FUP and as long as you don't exceed it every month you'll be fine, there's no usage charge for exceeding it and it's not a cap altho it's not as good as 3gb fup but then again no t-mob signal at all here

will the phone be locked to T-mobile network ??
