Hi all,

I thought I'd post this as while everyone seems obsessed with the lowest overall price they can get away with paying, I personally just want a good combination of phone and tarriff since I'm due for an upgrade shortly. This is obviously a good fiver cheaper than the deal that T-Mobile has been otherwise offering so far. Well, the handset will cost you £19.99, but that's only £20 as opposed to an extra £5 a month for 18 months (£90).

People seem happy to pay £25 a month for 300 minutes and 500MB internet access, so for me this deal is much better value as there's twice as many minutes and you'll presumably get away with more than 500MB of data on T-Mobile. The tariff is called Web 600.

Other deals at this combination of price/inclusive minutes are seemingly only available on 24 months contract. This being an 18 month contract makes it the best deal (imo) in my eyes for someone who wants the phone with a good contract, rather than just someone out for the cheapest price overall.

Please also note the phone comes with 4GB memory card and there is £50 quidco available.

In general with the T-mobile Android Tariffs their 'Unlimited Internet' means 3GB a month and the number in 'Web 600' seems to mean the number of mins so I'm going to guess that its the 3GB limit for the internet.

Ive looked for this tariff on the T-mobile site and they do have it as an 18month tariff but the phone costs £122 no the £20 stated on the deal site, so I'm not sure how they are doing that, but just incase theyve put the phone on a standard tariff rather than the android tariffs then the fair usage drops to 1GB a month :)

hope that helps

Mine isn't? 3.5G out and about and 3G or 3.5G in the house.

Their network coverage is far from crap, I always have good service. If you're unfortunate enough to be in a signal black spot or something then I'm sure it's annoying, but the problem certainly isn't that their coverage is crap in general.

I saw this deal a few days ago - unfortunately they are out of stock, when it comes to T-Mobile contracts and the Desire. According to a guy I spoke to at mobiles.co.uk, they've not got authorisation from T-Mobile to start selling it yet, but he expected it to come soon (ie. could be a matter of a few days to a few weeks).

Regarding T-Mobile's coverage, if they weren't very good previously, don't forget as they're owned by Orange now, they will soon start sharing transmitters, so getting the best of both networks...

Voted hot even though id prefer few more txts myself i could cope with 500 if i watch em  it seems far better than T-mobiles site which had way overpriced deals now on the Desire as they just put all the prices up on the handset there :o

As for there network i dont find T-mobile too bad ive had random place where net has been poor but overall i find the network ok, as a company they have uk call centres which i like but the deals on there site aren't as good now as they want quite bit cash towards handset and on renewals/upgrades they dont seem too offer anything good at all in my experince just what any new customer gets.

Different networks are better in different aeras, I find 02 is best in Peterborough, but as they say your mileage may vary.

OK Received Desire yesterday, fantastic phone.

Regarding the Internet allowance, as mine was from mobiles.co.uk i thought i better ring and check with Tmobile that i was given 3gb month allowance.
I was told i was only on the 1gb month by Tmobile and they were quite adamant it was carphone warehouse fault and to take it up with them or pay an extra £5 a month for the 3gb booster.
I argued quite strongly that my contract was with them on an Android phone and should be on 3gb month.
Still no joy.
Asked to speak to manager and they said i would get a call back later today but that even the manager would say exactly the same.
Hey presto within 1 minute i got a call back sayiny they are extremely sorry and they would put me on the 3 gb month plan at no extra charge.
I took the 600 mins /500 text with u/ltd web from mobiles.co uk and she said because the web was included with this i was entitled to another free booster, so i added u/ltd calls to landlines.

I think it is important for everybody to check what web you are given for reading other forums all 3rd party outlets are only giving 1gb per month, but remember that on the 1gb month web the download speed is throttled.

But be aware that you will have to argue and persist with them to get 3gb.

Decided to go for this today, no luck with retentions so best to start a new deal. They are also doing 5 months half price rental on this now.

The Orange £25 tariff looks good (300 mins, unl txts, 500mb data) - works out total cost £400 over 24 months (£150 redemption, £50 Quidco) or £16.7 per month.

Anyone beat this??
#16
Thing is that's a 24 month contract

The one from Beepy at the mo works out at £18.88/month after cashback and quidco on an 18 month 300 mins/300 texts/3gb internet (and unlimited landlines/texts have been added to most as Android phones automatically should have 3gb allowance)
