Just bought HTC Desire for my partner.

300 mins Any Network Anytime + Unlimited Texts+ 500MB Data.
£25 per month, 15 months half price (on redemption)
£50 quidco.

Costings
9 x £25 = 225
+ 15 x £12.50 = 187.50
Total £362.50 /24 months = £15.10 per month
Then sold old phone online for £75 takes it down to £11.98 per month.

No one is asking you to buy it!!!!
Best deal on Orange website is £22.50 per month which works out at £540

a bit odd???
Good luck with quidco, youll be eating your easter eggs before you see any of that. Still waiting for my voda cashback since April.

If you want i'll buy that desire off you for £80?

Mobiles.co.uk pays up quite quickly with quidco. I have no problem with them when I signed up my new Orange phone with them earlier this year.

Only regret is Orange is apparenly crap - both in network coverage and customer service. So think carefully what you sign up two years for.
#9
the good thing being if the redemption pays off you won't have paid beyond the price of the phone on effectively free credit.

The *only* thing that concerns me really is the 500MB data & the probable horrendous cost of exceeding that...
#10
forgot to mention, but I'm fairly sure phones from mobiles.co.uk are unlocked and unbranded too. Which is nice.

Do you read the announcements on Quidco?

The group DGM went bust and they provide Vodafone cashback. If your cashback is not in the "received" state from Vodafone then you will never get it I'm afraid.
.

DGM provided Vodafone cashback until the back end of 2009. Then they shifted to another group - it was well explained at the time on quidco. Cant find that link but here is a link to a post on MSE

mobiles.co.uk did not pay my quidco without a bit of hassle. First of all it didn't track and I had to manually get it done. It was then added but I they didn't pay me so after a 9 months, I had to chase it before it was eventually paid.

Not always true, have had Orange and O2 phones from them and neither unlocked.

An ABSURD price to pay for any mobile phone....

So what would you pay for one of the best & most sophisticated phones available and have you ever used one?
#15
Im getting this phone on Tuesday from 'Three'. I was about to leave them and go PAYG but they offered me this deal yesterday: 100 mins to any network, 2000 texts, 5000 mins to 3 phones, 1GB internet, 2000 mins to landline numbers AND this phone for FREE.....all for a 24 month contract at.... £10 a month!!!! Bargain of the year for me!!
Reviews for this phone are great too: http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/htc-desire.htm:)

Maybe before commenting you should try reading the post...The phone itself is free, the contract works out to £15/month by redemption - neither of those facts are absurd.

Personally I wouldn't choose to be locked into a two year contract, the desire has arguably already been overtaken by the Galaxy S and redemption deals are not for me. Good deal for some though.
#17
Im always gonna use a minimum of £10 a month whether im contract or PAYG so to get the deal i got AND the free phone (worth around £400) it would have been silly to say no.....lol
#18
Samsung's designs are nice visually, but no thanks....I gave them a very fair shake but I like my phones to work. Save yourself the headache and get the Desire....even if it is supposedly slightly slower.

Did think about the Galaxy and everything considered the two are very similar but it doesn't have a flash.
To answer a few other point, unlocked I'll let you know tomorrow when she gets it.
Mobiles.co.uk - I've had a phone from them before and had no problems with redemption so not anticipating any now.
bostonbadgirl - that's a great deal although where I live 3's coverage is shocking

Are you a bit dim?
The price isnt just for the phone, its 24 months of calls / texts / internet usage plus a phone thats worth £300

some people really are thick

Just tried to phone 3 about the aforementioned £10/month contract, and the £20/month contract on upgrades that were mentioned in the other HTC Desire thread. Contract expires in 3 days time and I was told neither of these upgrade options existed for anyone upgrading to an HTC Desire. Scum.

We got the phone today and it is indeed unlocked.
Of course my partner said she already knew that it was unlocked!!!!

Just been on the phone to 3 about this deal argued for 10 minutes they wouldn't have it,Said no such deal exists and never has.Cheapest they would do a Desire for me was £21 a month and less minutes text etc, iv'e been with them 6 years now.

Same here den169, complete denial of its existence, to the point where they called me a liar. Not happy.

Am confused by the low heat here. This is by far the best deal currently available for the HTC Desire and it comes unlocked and unbranded. Have some heat from me...
