However this looks a decent price for anyone about to buy the 626.
I'm guessing it's locked to O2 and I've no idea how easy it is to unlock

it's a rubbish phone but maybe as a first smart phone for kids.

to be fair the review is based on its original price and they are comparing the phone to a Moto G4 which is still around £150. For the spec you get, £90 is not a bad deal at all.

Given the deal some heat anyway

you mean its a budget/low spec phone aimed at someone with that in mind. Always had HTC phones and build wise, never had a single issue with them, currently on an M8s and has been as reliable as the others before it.

Desire is the entry level range much like the Samsung J series.

Actually decent for the price. 16gb storage and 5inch screen.

It is a really decent phone for £90, Techradar are utterly full of it. Never once given an iPhone or Galaxy S device less than 4.5 stars...

Would not touch it with a barge pole. I have one as a company phone, and it is slow and laggy, button presses are met with huge delays before the system responds. Makes my 3 year old Nexus 5 look fast....

The specs tell you the operating system at the time of the review. The phone could have received an update since then so actually what "took you a minute to find" might not be correct........ Do you actually own a mobile ?

its a snapdragon 210 , so its bound to be under performing a bit.
people tend to be forgiving if they like the look of the phone... in any case good price for those who like HTC UI. But reviews also say the screen is dim, so Im definitely not favouring that (maybe they did it for battery conservation).

Otherwise the motorola's are right around the corner.

That's the USA version of the handset. Same design, but significantly worse (8MP Camera vs 13MP on UK, 1.5GB RAM vs 2GB RAM on UK, and SD210 vs SD410 on UK).

So it looks like it has android 6. Can anyone confirm. Voted hot

i see, thanks for clarifying.. o2, vodafone are becoming frugal with the tech spec info on their phones on their pages..

I posted this deal but on closer inspection (unless I am mistaken) the o2 site doesn't list the amount of RAM? I assume it's 1.5 or 2 gig but which one?

Not doubting what you say at all. But do you have a link to confirm this?
#21
I can find a few mentions but no concrete proof. Was hoping someone could confirm.

My unlocked version got the marshmallow update earlier this year.
One issue I had was flex in the frame, it looks mostly plastic and I cracked the screen when I had the phone in my pants pocket and the frame bent.
For £90 though it's not a bad phone.
#23
Are these locked to o2, if so are they easy to unlock.
#24
They will be locked but a quick search on eBay would suggest its easy. Sainsbury's phone shop have them for £99 on three
#25
Where do you buy pants with pockets? I want some! :D
