To work out the actual cost of this, the actual committed contract period - minimum - needs to be known. I'm assuming that it's 24 months, but it was not stated.

I can't vote hot or cold and know whether it's a nice deal or not, without such information.
#2
It's a 24 month contract. I think it's a good deal, just don't like 3.

Can't say there's that much more than that on there tbh. It's no ipod app store that's for certain.

Game wise the best that's going on it are a couple of Gameloft HD titles you get from their website and that run like crap on my rooted Galaxy S. The emulators you have to pay for and are also badly optimized for supposedly the most powerful smart phone on the market currently.

What there is alot of however, as that comment rightly confirms, is Japanese hokum and virus ridden programs that slip through Android's poor screening system.

As for this deal, sure it looks good on paper, but I'd steer clear of 3 unless you happen to live on the moon, or one of the minuscule pockets of existance on this earth that a 3 signal is strong in.

^ Not sure how living on the moon would help if you reckon coverage is woeful where they even have transmitters.

Another apple worshipping sheep. LMAO

Reasonable deal. I hallways thought 3 were no worse than others. Marketplace has enough quality apps to fill up the phone.

The games scene is pretty weak on Android, that's definitely true. That doesn't matter to a lot of people, but it's definitely worth mentioning.

That said, the Desire is quite simply the best phone I have ever owned. Android is a wonderful system, especially on the HTC devices, and I've never yet had requirements of an app that wasn't completely fulfilled by something in the store.

But I wouldn't get this phone on 3 if it were free, and I'm actually serious about that. They had a pretty good go at ruining my life, and I never want a damn thing to do with them again - it's just not worth the risk.

do you even own one as you clearly don't know what you are talking about!
#15
Lack of games is made up for with emulators :)
#16
Question is wordsworth, do you own one?

That statement might not be 100% accurate, but it's pretty damn close. The android market needs to do a better job of advertising it's more popular apps and games as that's all I'm seeing pretty much on the front page!

when did you last try 3? With the network share with T-Mobile, and now with Orange coming on board for 3G they should have an excellent 3G network. They already have the largest 3G network in the UK.

Got a desire - makes Iphones look redundant noting the price difference and quality..

Lots of decent apps on Android as well - not seen anything on an Iphone I wished I had that I cannot get to be fair. Easier to increase memory, not a problem to jailbreak, not stuck with a phone if its an Iphone 4 that can't make calls unless you hold it with your left big toe...

2.2 update gives HD filming as well. What more do you want from a phone?

Oh and I am on Three and it aint that bad getting signal anywhere to be honest - no worse than mates on different providers.

Get a life! You know its utter crap so why post it?

- Android has many many of the major games that ios has ie. doodle jump, most gameloft ones like real football 2010, let's golf, asphalt 5, EA Games like monopoly etc.

- And actually it has many apps which apple devices aren't allowed or which the app store doesn't and i'm not just talking about your maybe 10-15 breast puzzles. I'd actually say there are more of those annoying apps on the app store.

- Thirdly, so your voting cold purely on your incorrect opinions of the android market? So what, are you honestly stupid enough to say that a phone is crap because it isn't running the app store? Despite the fact that it has about a million other features which apple devices don't, is far far far cheaper and you can customize them to your hearts content etc etc?

Woops, I forgot to mention. **THIS PHONE ACTUALLY WORKS. IT GETS NETWORK SIGNAL. YOU CAN HOLD IT HOW YOU WANT. YOU DON'T NEED A CASE. YOU CAN ACTUALLY HOLD IT AND USE IT(AMAZING RIGHT).

Shall I continue? I think not!

Stop talking out of your ****

About the 1GB/month packages that now seem commonplace, surely this is crap when you have a mobile with an OS that links directly to an app database.

That could be said for any network, I've been through O2, Orange, and Vodafone in my area and 3 has the best signal and the 3G is faster than my BT Internet. I was thinking the worst when I joined them but I have been impressed with 3 - even by their customer service which always seems to get a slating too. Maybe I'm just lucky. :-)

Yeh, that's pretty unusual. And your BT Internet at home must be unbelievably crap if its beaten by 3 :P

It's 1GB. Unfortunately OFCOM does nothing about companies advertising "unlimited" when there are quite clear limits in the small-print.

you need to get yr telephone line checked out! or maybe you're torrenting porn all the time and it's slowing down all yr other access?

Is this cheap because the new HTC Desire is out soon? I think im going to hold off and see what the new one is like.
#39
For all the negative comments about 3 I've never had a problem with either calling or 3G access and I've used it extensively across a lot of the UK. And they looked after me when I could get a better deal elsewhere. 600 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited (2GB) data for £15 per month over 12 months.

there is no such deal. three network iwould never chose/
