How long was the contract length? 18 months? I got a similar offer yesterday for 18 months, but for 25 quid including the insurance!

I am also out of my Orange contract in a few weeks and was also given an incredible deal,
800 minutes ,unltd texts, unlimited internet free HTC Desire phone for £22.50 a month for 24 months, which i took up and its coming on monday.
Bear in mind though that these are deals being offered for people coming to the end of their contract.

Are you guys cancelling (talking to retentions) or just calling upgrades???

I called upgrades last week (contract ends in 3 weeks) and they offered nothing decent at all - they said they couldn't do a Desire for less than £30/month and £100 upfront.

Hence my business is going to Three when my contract expires...
#4
DONT phone upgrades, they have not got the authourity to give better deals, you MUST go through retentions !!!!!!!!!!!!!
#5
All retention deals are based on your spend over the last 6 months, as everyone different everyone will get a slightly different offer. Don't expect to get this just because someone else has.

I rang retentions yesterday and got

600 mins
Unlim Txt
Unlim Data
30 Photo messages
for 22.50 on a 24month contract with a free htc desire.

This is a good deal, why is it cold?

because it is not a general deal....a hit and miss deal for those that are coming to the end of their orange contract and they get the right person on the end of the phone.....so many of these are posted and are normally individual to the user only or select few.......;-)

I am not with orange and looking for a contract....but i cant get this deal....hence cold....had it been general deal i would have added some heat fo rsure....

But they dont do good by us all.... I went with them and get 400 mins for £25 and had to fork out £50 for the phone. Should have waited 2 days and gotten it via dialaphone!

We keep having these arguments about customer-specific deals - but I reckon so long as it's mentioned in the title, there's no reason to vote it down for that reason.

It's no different to an offer not in your local ASDA or you not even having a local ASDA - it's a deal for SOME people and it should be measured on it's worth to those people (if you can't imagine that - just move along).

If you take this "I'm voting for me" and "dummy out of the pram I can't get this - WAH WAH" attitude you'll turn this place into a barometer of selfishness instead of a place for sharing deals - use some sense.

same deal £25 at buymobilephones.net so you are saving £2.50 a month thats incredible

You're saving money AND you're not dealing with a shonky third-party supplier who will offer naff-all in after-sales/customer service - that's a GREAT deal :)

OT but....Orange Reparations? If they had you enslaved I think they could give you a better deal :-D

got the same deal as the OP on vodafone but it was a lot of effort.

they weren't giving me anything good so i gave up and asked for the pac codes for the 2 phones i have with them so i could move the numbers to a new network, the guy said hang on a min and came back with the £20pm but would only do it for 24 months.

As mentioned before it all depends on your past bills and how much you're worth to them but if you're willing to go elsewhere push it to the point of taking your business elsewhere and see what happens

no problem - thats what i would have preferred £25 over 18months but there was no chance, no idea about orange.

you'll be doing well to get £20 for 24 months and theres only £30 difference - sucks that contracts have gotten so long.

if you're concerned about being stuck with an out of date phone you could try buying it pay as you go from 3 as they're selling it for £350 unlocked and unbranded i believe. then get a sim only deal from someone, it'll probably work out a lot more expensive per month that way.

good luck

....er nah

Its not really a "deal" more perhaps a heads up for a few people so maybe shouldnt have a hot/cold vote system. That would make more sense!

My gf told me to phone orange and see what they can do. I am finishing an 18 month contract with Orange that was £35 per month. Last date is the 28th of this month.

Just talked to retentions and got

£17.50 per month on a 24 month contract
Free Desire
200 any network/time mins (I am a light user on minutes)
unlimited text
unlimited data
50 photo messages inc.
A dongle for my net book included in the price too!
All for the £17.50 per month and I get my dongle and phone on Friday

amazing deal

note, As it is an upgrade i bought a data package for £5 (a one off payment) as I have no data in my current package. The official switch data is in the middle of next month and I will beon my unlimited deal.
I went for this after failing the credit check at both MPD and t-mobile. Best deal ever for me!
