Been searching around for the best Desire HD deal, i dont use many mins/text but i do use internet hence why is like this deal.

For those who prefer texts to internet, you can have unlt text instead of internet for the same price.

Also its only a 18 month deal(for all those 24 months haters out there!).

This is actually on tmobile network and i'm not sure if the phone is unlocked (maybe someone knows?).

20.42 * 18 = £367.56, which is about how much the handset costs sim free.

Oh and take it easy on me, i'm a noob with this kinda stuff :P

thanks haq:
£60 quidco
£60.60 topcasback

Seems a decent deal to me

Hot from me, just for the Handset alone, considering... as haq points out £307.00 with Quidco. Included services are really just a bonus

Posted this deal in another thread a few days ago and haven't found a better one since - post No.17

The missis paid £480 for this phone sim free at launch a few months back so this is a great deal especially if its unlocked as this phone will definatly be getting the new Android OS in the next couple of months and is still HTC's top phone spec wise.

Decent deal, but this phone is massive!

Good deal, if you don't need the mins. Heat Added :)
I would personally pay a little more and get more minutes. (i also don't mind 24month contracts at all)
For those who need more texts and minutes I this ONE is a good deal, esp after 8month half price via redemption plus £50 quidco.
or this ONE if you want the slightly more expensive but newer version in the incredible S, which is same price just 4 months half price instead of 8 :)

I have an iPhone 3G and its crap, battery almost dead (literally lasts a morning) it runs slow and the wifi chip broke when i installed iOS4, so i'm going to switch to Android, brilliant for Gmail users. Much, much better value for money. (and I like Apple stuff, I love my Mac)

100 texts is shocking tho. I pay £5 more for unlimited texts and 300 mins and 500mb data but on a 24 month plan. I suppose it's a decent deal but really you could end up paying a lot in extra penalties.
#10
good phone but there's a better deal on dial a phone with better minutes and text and 1gb internet for £19.50 p/m 24 months and 6 months redemption.plus quidco. so it's prob better getting th same phone from dial a phone. my sister is about to take that contract out soon. i heard the battery life is awful on this.

100mins and 100 texts?

Pretty awful IMO.
#12
silly question, is this capacitive screen?

yes

Low mins and Texts as stated BUT 18 months is very nice. Also, T-mobs data goes further than everyone elses as the 500mb is purely for downloads (web browsing is unlimited but once you use the 500mb downloads+, you can't browse or download to my understanding.) Furthermore, 500mb on a £20pm contract is better than some offer.

@MUFCristiano
All depends on how much they want. I never go near my texts/mins but I can cane 750mb in 3 weeks XD

I know what you mean, budd. What we can prolly all agree on is how super duper the Desire HD is. The updates are lacking at the momento, but HTC have done brilliantly to produce such a fantastic working smartphone to use.

Perfect for those that don't text much - I average 3 texts a month and peak at about 10.
My plan gives me 100 text and 100mins with 3GB data on tmobile for £10 pcm with a HTC Desire.
#17
if you get an iphone and look after it.. after 2 years it will be worth £250... this will be worth less than £100..

You think ur saving money but your not. AND this is an inferior product.

True true. Desire HD is great but April is a bit of a huge month for beasty droids. SE Arc and LG Optimus 2x have just come out and later in the month the Galaxy S2 is here aswell. So I'd expect alot of droids to start dropping in price this month/start of may. I'll keep my eyes peeled for any deals!

a friend of mine owns both iphone 4 and the desire, she says that texting in the iphone4 is so much better and intuitive than the desire, is this correct?

Inferior product? Naa, the only really poor thing about the phone is the battery but it is still acceptable. Your not saving money either way, we pay 20 quid a month for desire hd and 45 quid a month for iphone 4. Where is the saving?

Not at all, you can install the Gingerbread keyobard which is very similar or to the iphones or rotate the screen which'll give you lots more space to text or alternatively use your voice to type

This phone is the best phone i've ever owned. The only good thing about the iphone is the apps

You suck balls, Don't tell me you have a iphone don't you.

Is that 500MB every month or for 18 months? What if I needed more? Does it also spillover unused bandwidth from the previous month?

Also will it be a new number too? Dunno if I can put the sim card from my Nokia 6820 (don't laugh) in it, it's on t-mobile payg.

Edit, can't seem to find this hukd deal on this deals page ( http://www.affordablemobiles.co.uk/contract-mobile-phones/on-t-mobile-network/htc/desire_hd/black-colour/ ), only via the Go to deal link. Isn't that strange?

the 500MB is for downloading files and streaming YouTube.
Sending Email, Browsing Web or other similar traffic is unlimited.

I'm on the old 3GB FUP that came with Android handsets and whenever I go over my allowance. I can still download/YouTube at Off Peak times. It's only between 4pm and Midnight that the FUP kicks in.

It would be a new number too but you can get around this by porting your number to a PAYG sim for another network then port from that PAYG sim to your new sim.

Incredible S is actually HTCs top spec phone.

Is this unlocked, or can it be unlocked?

@spenspuma

read the cnet reviews of both phones they dont think the Incredible S is better than the desire hd .

the desire hd won editors choice phone of the year .

i have upgraded from desire to desire hd and i have had loads of phones from iphone to samsung galaxy s and this beats em all on spec and performance.

the battery isnt great but it is on par with the rest and with tweaks it performs very well.

The iPhone is without question unrivalled in terms of interface, just like OSX is.
But it comes with a premium. Its a bit like the old Mac v PC debate, the HTC Desires comes with better specs, but the interface just isn't quite as nice, but its half the price.

Battery isn't as good on HTCs but it can be prevented using Apps like Juice Defender and using APP killer to ensure you're running minimal apps. My girlfriend has a Desire and using those Apps she can get 2days+ battery out of her Desire.

i have to disagree with that comment about in terms of interface the iphone you cant change much
but the android os is fully customisable.

Very good deal, you can use Skype to cut down on your minutes, and GTalk/other instant messaging clients to replace SMS.
